Amelite

Amelite is a really nice little platformer, and the main thing that makes it stand out for me is that I am not just jumping between platforms that the game has already placed. I can actually draw my own platforms and use them to get through the levels. I start at the bottom of an abandoned mystical tower covered in dangerous crystals, and I have to climb my way up while figuring out my own solutions to the obstacles in front of me. That idea immediately makes the platforming feel more creative. The drawing mechanic is easily my favourite part. I can draw platforms to cross gaps, block projectiles or create walls that I can use for wall jumps. I like that the game does not always give me one obvious solution. Sometimes I can draw a platform in a simple way and move on, while other sections make me think more carefully about where I want to place it. Using the mouse feels natural here, and the game even supports drawing tablets, which makes sense considering how important the drawing mechanic is. The level design is also pretty good. I support your first-time game developer endeavors and wish you success, but I haven't felt this much rage since I Wanna Be The Guy. Was the goal to make a rage game? I had to give up just before the ending, because I couldn't handle the screen moving with the platform instead of the character anymore

could use some polish (especially with the resolution), but the gameplay is mostly solid some parts force you to guess what's on the other side of the screen though, which is sadly a minus

It’s not Shakespeare but then again shakespeare never made a platformer Difficulty Balance — 7/10 Clever puzzles and jumps that make you think without sending you sprinting to YT for help Replayability — 5.5/10 Worth revisiting for collectibles or to perfect your runs, but not the sort of game you’ll play every month Overall — 6/10 A charming well made platformer that’s fun, friendly, and never overstays its welcome. If you’re looking for something enjoyable without rage-inducing frustration, Amelite is absolutely worth your time.
