An Unexpectedly Green Journey

The game took me about 6 hours to complete, which is quite a bit shorter than most interactive fiction titles with such a high word count. This is because this game is designed with replayability in mind. You’ll take your character from an infant to an elder orc, and there are dozens of different paths to take over your life. I’ve been a world conquering green emperor, an adventuring hero, a religious prophet who rose to godhood, and an evil king who embraced the magical powers of a demon in order to help spread a diabolical cult across the world. This is one of the best IF games when it comes to choices and adapting the story to your decisions. One thing to keep in mind though is that this is not a character focused game, so don’t expect a lot of dialogue, romances, or complex character arcs. Despite this, I very much enjoyed the game and was compelled to play through it many times. The only real complaint I had was that the young adult stage feels too long. I always ran out of meaningful things to do that fit my character during this stage, resulting in several years trying to quickly pass the time to get my character to 33 years old, when you can move to the next stage of their…

This is the best Hosted Game I have ever played. And I have played a lot of them. Your decisions are respected, the replayability is huge and the developer doesn't shoe-horn you into certain choices to morally lecture you. Honestly this is peak quality. 11/10.
