Using a gift that grants you visions of past events, you embark on the trail of a copycat serial killer in Chicago that selects their victim based on a 100-year-old murder streak from London. [h1]⚙ [u]Game Description & Mechanics[/u] ⚙[/h1] Hidden Object games all have the same blend of point & click and puzzles. You pick up objects from your surroundings for use on other interactive points. Maybe you find a shovel in a closet, which you use to dig a hole in the flowerbed to retrieve a clue to unlocking a door, etc. You rarely interact with other characters beyond the occasional short cutscene, and pretty much everything resolve navigating from one static panel to the other, looking for clues and information to further the story. You'll find multiple instances of the namesake hidden object puzzles: a panel filled with junk and knick-knacks, attempting to find specific items from a list (some of which are only revealed by moving other objects), which you try to do as quickly as possible with as little misclicks as possible, usually resulting in one of the objects kept as an inventory …9 found this helpful
It is a decent hidden object game where you jump through time trying to solve murders and It has some interesting puzzles that you don’t see in every single HOG out-there.1 found this helpful
Game crashed and was UNABLE to play it anymore, as the game would no longer open. Too bad because I really liked the game!
A garbage bin like this with 2006 graphics should not run so terribly, but it does. The game crawled through the opening sequence with like 8fps stuttered speed in what took actually over 10 minutes, only for me to find out there are no video settings and the game would actually just play terribly like this. Luckily it's just another hidden objects garbage, so nothing is lost.
Good HOG with a really interesting story, good narration, likeable protagonist and a two layer help system that I didn't see in any HOG before (soft help in HOG scenes and hard help). The bonus chapter is not worth your while, the puzzles get obscure and convoluted and the story of that part is 'Meh' at best. In a transition scene in the bonus chapter I double clicked which led to a crash and loss of my profile and save data. So thats a possible snag in this game. But I was almost done with that part of the game and it was so bad in contrast to the main story that I didn't really care. My rating 7/10, recommended as one of the better HOGs on steam.
Pretty neat game for what it is. I enjoyed playing it for an evening. Interesting concept and story. None of the puzzles were obnoxious and the hidden object scenes were satisfying and felt like they had a purpose. Just one warning: Don't use the spray can when you think you should in the beginning chapter of the game in Chicago. It was missing for me later and I was stuck without it. Had to use a hint telling me to use something I didn't have. That was the only issue I encountered though.
