Anomaly Corridor

When it comes to gameplay and the mechanics, it doesn't do anything to really differentiate itself from other anomaly games. It's modelled after the usual anomaly spotting recipe. This is not necessarily a negative point, we have time again seen countless successful games built up from the same classic bricks in this genre. Point is, it's not trying to spin anything new into the experience, so just know what to expect. It provides a good challenge, definitely not easy to spot the subtle differences. This, in contrast to the very small location maybe makes it feel a bit [i]too[/i] challenging. Of course, it's complicated to tell if the difficulty is excessive when it could be just a single anomaly or even more that I'm missing. 1.02 has come and many of the previous issues that this game had are now resolved. No more falling through the map and the flies have been swatted away. I feel the game is now in a recommendable state. If you enjoy anomaly hunting games this is a fun one to play. Some of the anomalies are very difficult to spot so you may fail many times before you escape. There did only seem to be one ending, which is unfortunate. A different cinematic would have been nice for escaping without any failures.

This is my first corridor game so I can't really compare it to anything. I'm enjoying the puzzle. If you know corridor games you probably know what to expect more than I did. Runs great on Steamdeck.

6/10 The game looks great and sounds fine. This is the first anomaly game I've seen that is set in space, so this is a nice change. The sounds are nice, and are very fitting for the ambiance of being isolated in space. The game is a very short simple corridor. There are no instructions that I saw, but it is your basic no anomaly head straight and anomaly spotted turn around and exit where you came from. You must get 9 correct and you escape at the end of the 10 section. Currently I've only seen about 35 anomalies (Will update as I play) and I've learned if something moves turn around and run. There are a lot of anomalies that kill you, which is a nice challenge. There are a couple anomalies that surprised me, but I wouldn't consider them a jump scare. A little hard at the moment since some of these anomalies must be very subtle because I've missed a lot, and died a lot. (I just figured out you have a flashlight. So make sure to hit F so you can actually see the anomalies.) After about a hour I've started to get a couple repeats, so it does take a while to find all the unseen ones. Version 1.02 has fixed many of the previous issues, like falling through the map and those pesky bugs. With these fixes, I can now confidently recommend the game. If you enjoy anomaly-hunting games, this one is definitely worth a try. Some anomalies can be very difficult to spot, so expect to fail multiple times before successfully escaping. The only downside is that there seems to be just one ending. It would have been nice to have a different cinematic for escaping without any failures, but overall, it's a fun and challenging experience!
