About Anthropocene Epoch

Years ago an intelligence agency sent a Satellite into space coded with a frequency that could be received and sent back to Earth in hopes
to contact alien life. Another few years later a transmission was sent back and was located just outside the solar system, not knowing what
they contacted was hostile and ready to destroy human kind.................Maybe they shouldn't have sent that satellite at all.

Anthropocene Epoch is an alien shooter based in the Sonoma Region which is a semi open concept in a few levels to explore and find items on
your way, it is a mission based game with with 14 levels as well as secret missions. Your Mission is to escape earth by hi jacking one of the
mantis ships and and reuniting with the rest of the human race. This includes helping a few other's on your way.

Game Features include

- 14 levels including secret mission and a supply level
- Atmospheric level design
- Custom Soundtracks for each level
- Open area levels
- Custom Guns as well as hidden ones
- Custom huds

I will be updating this game Frequently, and to make this the best experience as possible thank you I hope you enjoy.

On a conceptual level, Anthropocene Epoch is a somewhat unique dystopian shooter, however its potential is greatly hindered by the terrible engine it’s built on. The mapmaking, sound design, and overall atmosphere are, for the most part, amazing feats for what is essentially a one-man development team. The story is sound, be it a little cliche, and the feel of the gameplay could be much worse. Unfortunately, that’s where the good ends. This game is rife with bugs; some mildly inconvenient, others straight-up game-breaking. I can see that the developer has put as much effort as he can into fixing them, but he is very clearly fighting against the engine he has chosen at every possible step. I played for two and a half hours, only to get softlocked on a level because I ran out of ammo with no way of restocking. I came back after the next update to corrupted saves, and after roughly an hour of speedrunning, I got back to where I was up to. I had just enough ammo left to get through the level, only to find out that the next level had an equal amount of enemies, and I was softlocked by the second room once again. Thankfully due to the newly-added (Or at least newly-discovered) melee bu…

Definitely one of the best games made on gameguru engine. Author poured his heart and soul into this project and it shows. Biggest issue I have with this game is very slow start - first 3 levels are located deep inside the sci-fi bunker and require a bit too much key finding, so it takes some stubornnes to push thorugh. Later it gets much better :) Finishing and releasing project of such scale as a single man and using GameGuru Classic to do it is very impressive!

Awesome work putting together you defiantly need to play longer then 6 minutes to get a feel for the game , is no COD but for a Game Guru game its really good best one i've seen so far. I enjoyed playing levels so much to see and had me really exploring but loved that its fairly easy to play and to understand, I look forward to playing some more and possibly upload a few screenshots to add as well... Awesome work!!!!

Very much an Indie Doom 3 meets Half Life experience, with a very original and intriguing world and story. The game is also very well polished, and balanced, the Dev spent a long time updating, and tinkering with the game while a lot of us tested it. GameGuru games are not all equal, some are good, some are bad, and then there are the gems. The ones that really show what a talented artist can do with the right tools. Do you like Doom 3, do you like Half Life styled Shooters? What are you waiting for? I mean, do we get these wonderful games in mass, or do the gems just sort of wash ashore? When something this good comes along ,that was made with such passion and dedication, when the vision is this good and executed as well as any 80's classic sci fi film, with solid game play, world building and level design, then your really missing out on something special buddy.

This game is really rough. I went in expecting rough, but this is bad. Others say it improves after level 3, but I can't find a "nearby lever." If I return to this game I will update the review, but I cannot recommend this game based on what I have experienced.
