Apocalypse Survivors

There's no way I can in any good conscience give this game a positive recommendation. While the basics of combat, such as the auto slash and shoot, are decent, the rest of the execution is terrible. In particular, abilities not only hasve cooldowns but also pull from "mana". Yes, you heard me, Mana. This effectively punishes you if you have too many skills, the entire point of games like this. The bosses are also completely broken, the first one literally one shot me with a kick. Now let's talk about progression. There's only a handful of weapons here between the now 5 characters, and each character can only use about 2 or 3 differrent types, and none of them really feel like they get better even with the rarity of your gun. Legendaries don't feel legendary at all, they feel like a standard weapon with an extra, mediocre ability added on. Meta-Progression via ability points and stat enhancements is just as bad, if not worse. Stats don't tell you what they do even when mousing over them, and ability points just seem to do little to nothing. After putting points into adding a "follower", I got dropped in without said follower. Putting combat skills during combat won't even tell you…

There's some good ideas here, and I do like the looting and progression. But I ask questions with mana, when most skills are not magic related. And some questions to the spawning of zombies, that just pops up next to you. So you roll into them and take touch-damage. And further the damage seems to be a little unbalanced. I had some seconds left on the 2nd map, and the boss just one-shots me, with the non-telegraphed shot he does. I had NO CHANCE on taking him down, and no chance of surviving him.. So balance out the damage more, get more interesting items and stats. There's enough slots to fill for sure! The leveling of skills seems slow, and very limited. Pikcing up magnets doesn't always give you a level.. And when a skill says MAX, and you can still pick it? It's weird yo give you the choice. Will it work or just be a waste? Needs more skills and levels on those skills. Mana seems weird to have in this, unless it's for fireball or dark orbs. Or unless the character class is magic-like. Also maybe make the exp dots in different colors instead of saying how much exp you get? And keep them the same color as your XP-bar, you know.. For convenience and "easy to understand". I…

Not sure why people give this game negative reviews. This is a fantastic vampire survivor style looter shooter. I’m on a 9950x3d with a 5090 and the game crashes when using dlss/frame gen sadly. Without it the performance is alright but it’s definitely unoptimized. If you like diablo loot games + survivor games this is one of the most fun and simple ones out there. Absolutely recommended! To the dev: Currently I only noticed 2 loot rarities, would be awesome if there are more (maybe there are haven’t seen yet).
