About The Last Stand: Aftermath

✦ AI summary

Explore a zombie-infested post-apocalyptic wasteland as a doomed survivor, scavenging for supplies, crafting weapons, and fighting hordes of undead while racing against the virus spreading through your body. Each death unlocks new perks and survivors for your next run, creating an endlessly replayable roguelite adventure where you're just as much a threat to yourself as the infected hordes around you.

The latest from veteran developer Con Artist Games, creators of The Last Stand series of games, The Last Stand: Aftermath is an all new, premium singleplayer standalone action adventure rogue-lite. Choose a survivor to set forth and explore the ruins of civilization, finding fuel to travel to new locations and gathering supplies to craft weapons and more.

It's Dangerous Out There

You'll need to stay on your toes, since hordes of zombies still roam the streets, and you're no superhuman. In fact, you're one of the infected yourself, and eventually you'll die, be it from the hostile undead or the virus rampaging through your body. But when that happens, you'll pick up the game again as a new survivor, with perks and upgrades earned based on your progress from the last, and set out to try again.

  • Sneak and fight your way through a dangerous post-apocalyptic wasteland
  • Outwit hordes of rabid infected, some with deadly special abilities
  • Scavenge for materials to craft into weapons and supplies
  • Risk undeath by using powerful mutations to make yourself stronger
  • When one survivor dies, start up again as another, with new unlocks based on progress
  • A tense and moody, atmospheric zombie experience

Your run was ended because an invisible charger killed you? Too bad, the game sometimes throw those curveballs at you. Get fckd. You have a bunch of blood samples to be able to produce a ton of antiviral at the herc station? Too bad, the game wants you to carry only ONE extra shot, so that the stakes are always high. You have extra batteries to unlock the antiviral at the side of the herc station/army truck? Too bad, you can only carry one unit of the antiviral, because reasons, thats why.Even if this is the stuff that is keeping you from turning into a zombie. Dont like this mechanic? Get fckd. Are you playing on mouse and keyboard and got stuck navigating on the sunken city's water by a water zombie? You will never manage to escape, no matter how many times you mash the quick time action to escape. get fckd. You got stuck and soft locked because you got greedy and wanted to see what was inside the trunk of a car right at the edge of the map? Get fckd and do it all over again. You found 2 gas canisters on a map? Are they next to each other? You cant even top one canister with the other, to optimize and make only one trip back to the car. Too bad, you will have to make two…

Played the original games on Newgrounds back in the day. Did not know this game even existed until randomly coming across it the other day. Have had a blast so far. A great mixture of challenging and rewarding. Each run feels unique.

Great game with awesome survival mechanics and punishes you for underestimating the zombies along with their cunning. Gunplay is surprisingly good for an isometric 3D survival shooter and the way you get perks are fun and interesting with the knowledge, supply depot along with reputation to exchange for awesome firepower at the cost of rep.

Highly replayabe with run modifiers. Story wise is pretty good too with twists and call backs to previious last stand games.

How many times can you die because you forgot to reload before exploring the basement of a ruined gas station? The answer may surprise you! Tripped over this because of a video essay on The Last Stand, which I spent waaaaaay too much time on in university. It's excellent! Plenty of crafting options, gradual progression even as you die to silly mistakes, and tense gameplay that gets a bit more varied with every map you explore. The sound design is excellent too; guns sound weighty and weather effects are moody. Well worth your weekend.
