About Aria
Aria is a narrative-driven adventure game following a young girl - Aria and her travelling companion, a “Dolki” (Half Dolphin, half Kiwi). A recent tragedy has left Aria adrift in her own imagination where corruption has begun to intrude upon the lands. Only bringing together the lost pendant pieces can save her world and its citizens.
Go at your own pace while gliding through the surreal environments by zooming through at breakneck speeds, or by taking your time to enjoy the sights. Slower paced swimming provides a peaceful interlude to play in the slow swaying kelp or with the schools of fish.
Featuring hand-painted environments and an orchestral soundtrack, Aria delivers a heart-stirring and unique experience.

🧡3/10 - ARIA: The destroyer of fun. [-] Bad / negative [+] Good / positive [+/-] Mixed / could go either way - [-] First an foremost, the controls. They're not good. You can independently use WASD and/or camera movement, but in multiple situations, you'll need WASD to get around obstacles unless your camera sensitivity is maxed to whip it around for movement. This results in using 75% of your brain to move your character and camera at the same time in a smooth motion without the cameras orientation flipping and W now going DOWN, and S going UP. | > That aside, the camera is okay. Sadly, it shares the same properties as souls-like games where it clips through objects. [-] The lava section at the end is lousy. It's built up to be an impactful moment only to have the momentum torn away if you die, repeating the section. The falling blocks drop in predictable vertical patterns only to jut horizontally when you go by. If you die even once, there feeling of importance drops significantly. [-] Hitboxes are a bit wacky. Not a fan of this game at all controls are super annoying and janky the game itself runs perfectly just rubbish execution of the controls

Ehh barely gets a recommendation from me. Controls are reliant on precision mouse movement and some jank collision detection while in the air. Story and graphics are alright, level design is OK as there is limited guidance, but the game does only take 1 hour. The core mechanic is a combination of flying and swimming with a jet-like motion, and at times is pretty well done, but some levels are a little hard to navigate. It's free, so I would consider checking if you have nothing else to do.
