ARK: Survival of the Fittest takes everything that makes ARK stressful and asks the important question: “What if we made it a battle royale?” Apparently, the answer was: dinosaurs, panic, and absolutely no chance of having a peaceful afternoon. You spawn into the arena with nothing, surrounded by a bunch of other players who all have the exact same goal: become the last person standing. Within seconds, everyone is sprinting around grabbing weapons, armor, supplies, and anything else that might prevent them from becoming dinosaur food. And then someone gets a dinosaur. That's when the match goes from survival game to prehistoric warfare. The funniest part is that the game gives you a false sense of security. You might spend the first few minutes gathering resources, crafting equipment, and thinking you've got a solid strategy. Then you hear footsteps. You turn around. There's a guy riding a dinosaur directly at you. You have a spear. He has a dinosaur. You can probably guess how that interaction goes. The taming system is where things get particularly ridiculous.
