Initial impressions are solid, love the pixel art and the atmosphere is great. Mechanics are solid and does a good job of easing you into things. Some really competent bones, looking forward to seeing how it develops. 50th :)5 found this helpful
If you ever played Abuse when you were young and always thought it had the best ever game mechanics and concept, you've been waiting in vain. Until now. This is exactly what you've dreamt of. Go old school and wasd around with your left hand and mouse-aim with your other, but in 2D platform. The gameplay is just super, fast, precise and extremely controllable. The setting is atmospheric and dark. The teddy bear is adorable. The weapons and upgrades are yummy. If you for some strange reason are younger than 40 and never played Abuse you should definitely try this for a completely different game mechanic than all other games available. I think you'll like it.2 found this helpful
Great visuals Tight controls Good music, if a limited On the harder side Plays well on PC/mouse/keyboard, but clearly designed for a gamepad Encourages repeat exploration of levels1 found this helpful
I died right after spending all my credits on my guns and felt myself absorb robbie's swearing tendencies
Simple enough to master, difficult enough to satisfy. Moody and perfectly fitting synthwave soundtrack, fantastic pixel art aesthetics, good UI, intuitive controls. The writing isn't exactly Pride & Prejudice, but it's endearing enough for me to enjoy, and fitting for what this game is trying to be. It was absolutely worth the price I paid and the time I put in. I encountered a few minor bugs, but they were isolated and mild. There was nothing game breaking or progress blocking. Tried using a controller first, but I found myself struggling. I felt handicapped. I had a much easier time when I switched to keyboard and mouse, and everything just clicked.
Good game :)
