The story follows the enigmatic journey of Sky, an explorative artificial intelligence made by Professor Toro Hudo who lives in GOA, the world below. Sky was created to help Professor Toro Hudo in constructing a kinetic system for his foster daughter, Ocean Hudo, a forsaken limbless child who fell from the clouds when she was an infant. Observe the mystical GOA, experience its astonishing adventure with formidable puzzles, swiveling plot, and bizarre habitat.
  • Enjoy the incredible story of Ascender. Get to know more about Ocean, her dad and the GOA's civilization.
  • Explore the various districts of GOA, the underground civilization in the world of Ascender. The game uses an open world approach with metroidvania vibe that is very focused on puzzle.

✦ AI summary

Ascender is a thoughtfully designed 2D puzzle-platformer with metroidvania elements that players appreciate for its atmosphere and experimental approach to progression. However, the game is hampered by poor keyboard mapping and control issues that create frustration, along with navigation problems and missing hints that can leave players stuck without clear direction on where to proceed next.

Exploration becomes more than just movement—it becomes a process of reinterpreting the world as your capabilities evolve. What sets Ascender apart is its approach to abilities and progression. Instead of simply acquiring fixed powers, the gam…

Nope, after getting 13% you get stuck because you can't navigate to the next area, also the tip that the butcher gives dissapears as well, not even shown on the map.

A would be fun platformer, but the key bindings are rather off and quite annoying to use at times. The story and characters weren't enough for me to enjoy the game unfortunately.
