What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players generally praise the horse animation quality and breeding/creation features, but overwhelmingly criticize the game as an unfinished early access title with an unjustifiably high price for its current state, poor graphics relative to marketing, technical issues, glacial development progress, stiff horse behavior in stalls, and unrealistic rider animations. Multiple reviewers mention refunding the game or warning others away, expressing frustration that despite years of development and funding, meaningful progress remains minimal.
I've backed this game on kickstarter a few years back. My profile picture is from this game, from the time when you could run for hours into the void which would result in a glitchy and deformed horse. That was the most fun I had in this game. Since then, they've added jumping, dressage and breeding. Jumping - I like the idea of adjusting your stride to make the horse jump but it's currently dull and buggy. Not fun. Dressage - Something that would be fun with more people but I don't have horsey gamer friends that would have good enough pc to run this game. Your horse is born with elite dressage knowledge skills and can do a piaffe when you sit on it for the first time. I would like to be able to train for the more advanced dressage moves. Breeding is actually somewhat fun, but managing horses in the stable is boring and frustrating due to bad UI. I like that they went for real coat colour genetics. The gene combiantions are well executed. This is the only well made part of this parody of a horse game. I can't wait what they'll add next but they are working slowly.2 found this helpful
This is actually sad for me because i love the game....for the potential. I dislike it because its just unfinished for being an early access 3 years ago. The movement for the character is slow but turning the character is slower. I feel it needs refinement and tuning. The horse animations while riding are GOLD but slow. I feel they are really realistic but slow and the riders post needs some tweaks as well. There's paddocks off the stalls for your horses to be able to go but when you close the door they don't move. Now i know horses can stand still but there's no "life" to it not even tail flicks. They don't run off into the field even. it has a realistic aspect but no life. Jumping is pretty easy when you get the hang of it but i feel it can be tweaked as well. i cant say its worth $25 when it feels unfinished and i do believe it will have a tendency to crash as it crashed before it even loaded me into gameplay after i created my horse. If they where to fix/finish the game i would buy and play again but as of right now 2026 i cannot recommend :(
Used to crash at start up and got stuck at loading screen for god knows how long, after it finally worked I instantly hated my life. It's beyond horrible, graphics feel like I'm playing a game from 2010. I've followed the development and progress on social media and thought it looked great- But it looks nothing like the content they have been showing us. It's boring and not worth your money and time. And since I spent most of my time on loading screen I don't meet the requirements to get a refund.
iv enjoyed this game the mechanics for the horses are nice and easy to use not finished but other than that iv enjoyed this game a lot and also there is a lot to customize on your horse and you can breed them and get cute horses endlessly if you wanted to
I would like to start this review with saying my laptop is not capable of running the game full graphics and everything however... the game even in the lowest settings is very pretty. The game contains only a few minor glitches as it is in Pre-alpha ( i think) which is really good for this stage of development. i love the jump animation and how you can actually go first-person compared to most horse games. I love the cozy vibe and the overall play style of the game. I am so excited to see how far this game comes until its full release.
i love the horses
