You're in debt and your life is on the line. You better make a lot of money! So set your own path and brave the struggling world in this neo-western visual novel.You can meet over 100 characters which present the player with a nightmarish range of hateful worldviews, bitter rivalries and the morally bankrupt business opportunities you will need to survive Tucson. Build your relationships and tear them down where you see fit. Find out their deepest, darkest secrets. Treat them like sidewalk trash. Make them your charity cases. First off: big language warning, a slur or three, some swearing, Violence, kinda gritty like Tarantino film. No gore, let's just say the Devil on one shoulder is bigger than the Angel on the other one. If you hate politics of any kind, this is NOT for you! First-person visual Novel/rpg/loan shark simulator with pixel graphics. You can choose to be feminine, but the story is geared more toward masc/butch- which basically made me a tough lesbian lol Get ready to be either the slimiest greed-bag, or dead-broke schmuck. Talk to questionable people. Loan them money (or not), set the interest (or don't), seal the deal or tell them to screw off... and that's just your day job! Then you go shopping, talk to questionable people, do questionable things... it goes on like that until you get killed or are able to pay off YOUR loan shark! Pyramid schemes, amirite?? Other things can happen. This game kicked my @$$ on the first play-thru, and I still enjoyed the journey enough to go a few more times. why just because they did not make money the first month does there debt disappear and its like they never took the money they atleast hire the cartel to get your money back.2 found this helpful
Honestly this is has been quite a pleasant surprise for an indie title. This game gets you in quite immoral decision making mood really early on. The plots you follow along have a lot of left turns and the main gameplay loop seems to be relying on RNG and doen't let you quicksave significantly raises the stakes for your choices. The score and the artstyle really does build upon the climate served on relatively sized platter. Honestly it's worth checking it out.1 found this helpful
I like the aesthetic, the touch of horror here and there is kind of nice. The Tucson setting is fun. There are a multitude of bugs. If you refuse one cowboy's offer to fund a lawsuit of his uncle, then accept a different scheme when he comes back, it treats it like you loaned him money for the lawsuit. Also, worst of all they write "your" when they mean "you're", which is just lazy, inexcusable, and betrays a lack of basic intelligence.
The dialogue in Bad Credit is what happens when you learn about talking to people exclusively from the 'silly mode' of RPGs
