About Bag of Dreams
Overview
Bag of Dreams is a cozy, card-based roguelite where you draw dream fragments from your bag and place them on your Dream Space; a quiet sanctuary you're building to facilitate your win condition each run. It’s push-your-luck deckbuilding with a dreamy twist: every draw could bring you closer to the perfect night's sleep, or push you closer to endless nightmares. 😱How it works
Every bag comes with its own win condition, these can be based on specific cards or groups of cards. Cards have effects (granting currently like dust or dream essence, or retriggering other cards) and some cards are nightmares, which forcibly place themselves down and increase your nightmare fuel… collect too much nightmare fuel and your night will end prematurely! Every game has two phases; Rounds alternate between drawing and placing fragments, and a shop phase where you spend resources to grow your collection. Dream essence helps you grow your dream space, and dust lets your purchase new fragments for your dream bag. Visit the Lucid Exchange between rounds and spend wisely! ✨Push your luck too far and nightmare fuel starts to accumulate. Terrors and Nightmares begin creeping into your bag, threatening to unravel the dream you've worked so hard to build.Hundreds of fragment synergies, multiple Dream Spaces with unique mechanics, and a risk-based core that rewards bold play and punishes recklessness. No two nights play the same. 🌙Sweet dreams aren't guaranteed but they're always worth chasing.💜

What Steam players say

Players consistently praise the game's adorable art style, cozy atmosphere, and addictive "just one more run" gameplay loop that clicks once you learn the mechanics. The deckbuilding roguelike is accessible to newcomers thanks to good tutorials and adjustable difficulty levels, with unique mechanics like pet collection and combat-free gameplay that stand out in the genre. Some players note the initial learning curve can be steep, but overall the game offers excellent value and appeals to both casual card game fans and hardcore roguelike enthusiasts.
Super addicting, I LOVE ALL THE PETS. There's a bit of nuance to this game and the learning curve can hit you at the start. But once you get it, it sort of clicks and everything becomes "Just one more run." I bought this game in the middle of a fish and chip shop. 11/10 would be side tracked from fish and chips for a cozy card game creature collecting roguelike again. Love all the art! while deckbuilding and roguelikes are not my favourite, I'm having fun2 found this helpful
I really enjoyed this game and found the mechanics pretty easy to pick up. It has a good optional tutorial section to learn about the different parts of the game and it's fun finding different cards and figuring out ways to use them. The art is adorable and the gameplay has good pacing.1 found this helpful

Note: I also played ~20 hours of the demo. This is a really unique and amazing combat-free roguelike deckbuilder, with nice polish and music. If you like solitaire card games, it's an excellent title. If you like "growth" cards in roguelikes, it's an AMAZING title. Every round, the deck will get more and more cluttered with a variety of terror cards that auto-play when drawn. These cards eat up the board space and also have other negative effects. Your other cards generate resources, have special effects, or work toward the self-selected victory condition (you must buy a card that has the victory condition). Often all 3 simultaneously. The closest analogy might be something like the boardgame Pandemic. There's a sense of rising tension, a nice balance of deck thinning (to get powerful cards) and deck bloating (to reduce % of terror cards). It's a meaty game well worth the price IMO, but try the demo if you are unsure.1 found this helpful
I don't play roguelikes usually (mainly because I'm too bad at them), but this one is different. On lower difficulties, it's very manageable and is a lot of fun. For those of you who want to go more hardcore, there are 9 difficulties available, so I'm sure you will get your kicks. And it's so cozy! The art is so pretty and dreamy (pun somewhat intended). Can recommend; especially at this price, it's definitely worth it.1 found this helpful
