Bought it on sale and it was okay enough. But it's not finished and although the devs say they haven't abandoned it, they've moved on to other projects and realistically, this is probably going to be in "Early Access" forever because they lack the discipline to finish it. So there are bugs and balance issues. Ultimately, the experience for the player resembles that of the devs. It's fun enough at first, but eventually you notice enough small problems that you just lose the motivation to go further. There are enough card battlers out there that you don't need to waste your time on something unfinished.3 found this helpful
Honestly? I did not think much of Dreamgate, when I started it. I play on Mac and there are just not a lot of games that you can play. After spending A LOT of time in Slay the Spire I tried this. It was fun. After 1-2 years I found it again and boy, it still is a lot of fun. This is not the most complex game you will ever play. But there are tons of things to do, a lot of characters and combinations. And it is "easy to learn, hard to beat".
Another EA abandoned game. :(

Im a great fan of games of this genre, so even though the reviews in this were all over the place, I gave it a shot at a nice sale for 4 euro. After playing a few rounds and beating the game with 1 char on normal mode, I feel...meh... The game feels soulless, like they took a textbook on how to make a RPG deckbuilder and did exactly that, no more no less. I'm pretty sure I will play a few more games to try out the different heroes, but its just not that interesting to play, nor to unlock any of the roguelike upgrades. Overall 5/10, buy only on good sale and if you've already finished the better games in this genre.
Pretty unbalanced, but fun for what it is. Will give you a challenge until you figure out the winning patterns.
