BalloonBoyBob is yet another asset flip/construction kit template copy+paste from serial Russian shovelware asset flippers, Dnovel/FreeAnimals_Software. These guys do nothing but copy asset store assets and game tutorials, fill out a few things/stamp out basic levels using the construction kit templates, and dump them on Steam and into DailyIndieGame bundles as cash grabs. Today's "effort" from these guys is BalloonBoyBob, and it's a garbage asset flip from their commonly used Rotatex template (they have copied and pasted this exact same game onto Steam multiple times!) slapped together with the godawful Cocos2D game development toolset. As a game, it's terrible, of course. Locked resolution and controls, copied + pasted from a crap Cocos2D template... it's just garbage. For that reason, this is below acceptable standards, and has no real merit or value as a genuine, sincerely made PC game. Using game construction kits doesn't need any talent or professional game development effort, and results in shallow, low quality shovelware like BalloonBoyBob. The status of this thing as nothing but an asset/template flip/cash grab is cemented by the "developers" prior history of asset …2 found this helpful
4.5/10 - Not great - not terrible the whole idea is great and the art style worked for me. the problem I have with this game is that the level progression doesn't have any clear red line to it. there are some new mechanics that get added through the game but I would wish that these mechanics add upon each other rather than in a randomized playlist of 71 levels. the level design also feels a bit untested because you can easily finish some levels by sequence-break it by first try without knowing what the intended way would be. Which brings me to the somewhat broken controls. Sometimes the rotation gets stuck when you press another button while holding the rotation key and the "stick to ground" mechanic can be abused to slowly fall and take sharp in-air turns. I would recommend this game if ether the level progression was a bit more linear and thought through or the controls couldn't be abused that easily.1 found this helpful
𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐠𝐚𝐦𝐞: A ball named Bob is a platformer in which everything turns upside down and where you have to overcome a huge pile of obstacles to get to the end. 𝐏𝐥𝐨𝐭: Bob is a small and brave ball, ready to embark on an adventure through a black-and-white world full of dangers and mysteries. In the game, you control the rotation of the screen and direct the trajectory of the character's movement. Bob can jump and overcome obstacles and cling to the surface. 𝐅𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬: 1. 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲: A rather complex and interesting platformer from "our" developers, the main feature of which is the ability to rotate space in different directions and thereby move the main character around the level. We control a small ball named Bob, who needs to switch all the switches to pass the level in order to open the passage to the door. There are a lot of different obstacles around that are killing us. Also, you need to c…1 found this helpful
who knows
I almost gave up on this game on the very first level because I could not seem to beat it. That was when I realized one of the core game mechanics that is not used in all games of this style: the down cursor helps you stick to the surface and not roll away into infinity with next to no control over the ball. After that, the game became a lot of fun. Some levels are extremely hard, some extremely easy, and in no particular order.
This game saved my life. I had recently lost my best friend and this game showed me there was more to life than dwelling on the past, it showed me that i had more chances to do right in this life. so thank you BallonBoyBob. and also subscribe to TheRejectedHub on youtube
