Band Camp Boyfriend

This game is racist. It's giving I date black people so I'm not though. Otherwise, it's set up with the mentality of a 13 year old. I'm unsure if the person who made this is a child but it certainly seems like it. It's good if they are, but they want to work on how they see the world around them and either read A LOT or go out there an experience life.

My friend just recommended this game recently. There's countless things I loved about it. The many many choices, the amazing soundtrack, the memorable side characters, and more! But most of all there are a few huge things I wanna focus on. First, every guy is so well written and different from the last that I played every route and they were all great, even the ones I wasn't initially interested in. You can really feel the love for band and the depth for each character! Second, a minor detail that I like is how each guy has secrets and things about them you can only learn through their route. Every other route, many characters remain a mystery! Samuel, Clark, and Poptart are great examples. You don't even learn Poptart's real name unless you play his route! It makes it even more meaningful when you play an entire character's route and learn everything about them, then going to play a different route and they're closed-off again. So cool! Third, I've never picked up any band instrument in my life, but now I feel like I have a much better understanding of marching band just by playing this game lol. This one time at band camp...

I spent the last three hours of the game thinking of how exactly to write this review. I normally review books, not games, so forgive me if this focuses more heavily on the narrative than the digital elements. For me, the focus tends to be more on how things make me feel. Band Camp Boyfriend, while it dragged a bit at times, brought me immense joy. I'm not sure how long I spent playing it as my playtime glitched and stopped at 23.9 hours, but I'm willing to bet it was between 70 and 100 hours over the course of five months because I left the speed on auto so I could fully enjoy the game without rushing through it. It would probably be a lot quicker if you just read it at your own pace, but unfortantely there is no way to speed up the automatic text so you would have to click on by hand. Band Camp Boyfriend ultimately felt like a love letter to high school marching band. We do not have marching band where I grew up in Canada, but we do have concert band. I played the clarinet for five years and thoroughly enjoyed it.
