Bean Battles is, without exaggeration, one of the most ambitious gaming experiences ever created. The combat has the mechanical depth of Elden Ring, the storytelling of Red Dead Redemption 2, the player freedom of Baldur’s Gate 3, and the endless replayability of Minecraft. Somehow, Bean Battles takes everything these games spent hundreds of millions of dollars trying to achieve and accomplishes it with beans. Every match feels carefully handcrafted. Every movement has weight. Every tactical decision matters. When I pressed W and watched my bean violently slide across the map, I experienced a level of immersion Rockstar could only dream of. The graphics are breathtaking. Forget Cyberpunk 2077 with path tracing — nothing compares to witnessing a perfectly rendered bean rotating at 600 RPM after being launched across the map by questionable physics. The soundtrack rivals DOOM Eternal. The worldbuilding makes The Witcher 3 look shallow. The competitive depth makes Counter-Strike feel like tic-tac-toe. And the content? Endless. After experiencing everything Bean Battles has to offer, other games simply feel unfinished. I tried going back to Baldur’s Gate 3 afterwards and…
