Bears In Space

TLDR: 6/10 The icing is good but the cake is made of poop. glad i didn't pay full price. Starts off pretty good, but then by the third level, the seems start to show, I played on normal difficulty and I really wanted to like this game. Pros 1. Fun, consistent art style. 2. Jokey vibe and decent writing 3. Fun voice acting 4. Neat level design and secrets Cons 1. The guns are crap. The bullets don't hit where the reticle is pointed. Nothing is good at long distance. Everything feels light and weak except the shotgun. 2. World geometry consistently blocks shots that are well outside of it. Like invisible walls eating my bullets because I dared take cover in a room bloated with robot projectiles. 3. Enemies are 100% accurate, which would ok if the guns did not suck Megatron's ♥♥♥♥. As it stands, I feel like I brought nerf to a gun fight. 4. If you make a bullet hell game, have some rhythm or slow it down. The screen is so randomly full of projectiles half the time that you have to just tank damage and they are stingy as hell with the armor. 5. The combat encounters get WAY too intense for something that handles this poorly. You will be swamped with robots…

Serious Sam esque shooter that is packed to the brim with gags and references. The shooting is competent and there are tons of guns to use. That being said, I do think the game went on for a bit too long. Some of the levels felt far too big and expansive, and I think if they had made them more tightly crafted the experience would have been much better.

Objectively this succeeds. Once you learn spawn and fire patterns its lightening -jumping, moving and shooting. The random fire spread is so fun to contend with. Forced body stay makes target acquisition hyper dependent on searching for color coded fire. Very fun acrobatic shooter. Chugs on steamdeck. I dont care and neither should you. What are you, the King of Spain?

Only beat the first two levels, and I'm hooked. This is the first person shooter equivalent of a Ratchet and Clank game. The humor for sure will leave some divided but I personally love it, and found myself actually laughing out loud more times in just the first hour-ish of gameplay, than all of the first High on Life (which was only just okay in my opinion). Got at a steep discount at $2, can confidently say it's something I would've felt comfortable paying full price for.

Greatest Boomer Shooter ive eva played! Its got bears, guns, robots and mini games!! Its a beautiful mix of parkour, boss battles and so many extra side quests. I love it and it plays amazingly on Arcade Controls!🕹️

one of the best bullethell/boomer shooters ive played in a long time. very satisfying to play, weapons are unique and fun to play around with. Its like high on life but actually funny. Only issue is getting the last gun requires alot of grinding as does leveling up the weapon.
