Players find Beatrect competent but unremarkable compared to other VR rhythm games in an increasingly crowded market. While the spinning room mechanic in higher difficulties offers some novelty and the core gameplay is solid, the visuals are uninspired with barely noticeable ray tracing, and the music selection lacks memorable or recognizable tracks that would set it apart from stronger competitors.

The problem is that the VR music rhythm game category is filled with a lot of great games. So you really have to do a lot to stand out from the crowd. Unfortunately, while Beatrect is just fine, that only makes it average in this category of VR games. The claimed RT (Ray tracing) is barely noticeable with the simple visuals the game has. If you hadn't told me it had ray tracing, I wouldn't have noticed. The visuals are okay. The musical soundtrack is okay, nothing memorable and never heard of any of the songs. The only thing that really stood out to me was the the room would spin in the higher difficulties. It may make some of you uncomfortable to say the least. Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. I did not experience any major issues or bugs. You do need to play standing and a little room to dodge left or right. You may need to readjust the Y axis or at least I did as I was too low to the ground by default. Although this game may seem easy at first, it does turn into quite the cardio workout.
