Beyond The Threshold

Wonderful strategy game that challenges your resource gathering abilities and timing out projects and events to align with your ability to complete them. I have had a wonderful time playing this with friends and have equal part defeats and victories. The challenge this game offers really rewards coordinated team play and punishes you for making mistakes. I have had a great time as a solo player or playing with friends and would definitely recommend buying this with some friends if the demo feels up your alley. A party of 4 players can easily have 10 hours or more of fun which to me is more than worth it.

I hate doing this but having the game crash as often as it does i cant in good faith recommend it 5 games 4 crashes is horrible odds

A fairly decent solo/cooperative digital boardgame with a good variety of playstyle based on the deck you select and game mode that you can choose to play based on the kind of challenge you prefer. It's the worker placement game where you assign your units to different location to harvest the resource that use to play cards and eliminate obstacles to reach the goal. Graphics and sounds are not very remarkable and mostly utilize free assets which is quite understandable for the small developer. I would take that over AI generated assets though. While the game is just around the slightly lower than average quality, it's core gameplay is solid enough and pretty fun overall. Having serviceable online multiplayer and developer being responsive to bug/typo reports also leave me a good impression. It's not a very attractive game but I would recommend it to board gamers and you can give Demo a try. The game is reasonably priced and deserved more recognition at least for its good game mechanics.

Beyond the Threshold is a pretty well-designed cooperative boardgame that suffers a bit from a somewhat janky interface and unclear UI in spots. The game underneath is solid and interesting, though, and is obviously a passion project of a solo dev who has put a lot of thought and care into the project on the back end thinking about the systems that go into the game itself. I'm heavily reminded of Dice Tribes: Ambitions, another boardgame-like by an indie dev with carefully thought out backend systems and a simplistic frontend, but this one has multiplayer! There are four Mages you can play, each one has three decks (you start with one and can unlock two more), and there are four Scenarios and five difficulties, so there's a TON of variability in what and how you can play the game. I haven't explored all four Mages yet at the time of writing, but I've played two of the Mages and two Scenarios, and each one felt very different. I've also played multiplayer and watched a friend play one of the other two Mages, and his play was *extremely* different than mine. Incredibly fun little game with a friend. A lot of classes/subclasses that vary a lot in their focus and complement each other. Cheap game for couple hours of fun. Visuals are rough, but made with love. The bad: UI and clicking on stuff are clunky. We ecountered some bugs or things that dont act like the exact wording, but nothing to serious Would recommend it for everyone as a casual strategy game, with the perfect amount of challenge and variety
