Bitter Harvest

As someone with hundreds of hours in 2d farming sims, it’s safe to say I’m really enjoying this one. It has the cozy farming-sim feel I love, but the malicious choices make it stand out from just being another Stardew-like. I really like that you can actually make bad choices and play your character in a more selfish or questionable way. It gives the game its own identity, and I’d definitely love to play more!

A Surprisingly Dark Farming Sim With a Lot of Potential I came away from trying this game pretty impressed by what this little indie game is trying to do. At first glance, you might think you're getting another cozy farming sim. That's not really the case. Bitter Harvest takes the familiar farming-sim formula and mixes it with secrets, revenge, manipulation, relationships, and moral choices. Instead of simply receiving a farm and building a peaceful life, you start from almost nothing and have to work your way up after things don't exactly go according to plan. That immediately gave the game its own identity for me. The 2D pixel art is charming, and I really liked the contrast between the colorful, cozy village and some of the darker themes running underneath it. The soundtrack also fits the atmosphere nicely, especially when you're just fishing, exploring, or working around the village. The biggest surprise for me was the choice system. You're regularly given opportunities to decide how you want to deal with people and situations. Very fun game. Made me laugh. Was excited for this game before it came out. Bought it the second I saw it for sale. No regrets. Short game (but exactly as long as the creator stated it would be), but I think it has replay value. Hope eventually, it will be an eternal-play game because I just want to start hording money, planting crops, and buying animals. But I'll happily start over for now.

If you go into this game thinking its like all the rest of the cozy little farming sims, you might find your self surprised. I made a choice thinking ha you deserve it, but then felt really guilty lol. Its not overpacked with a million things, but it keeps my ADHD brain active for a while. I dont find it rough, just simple little game to enjoy.

**Bitter Harvest** is a very unique and impressive game! The 2D pixel-art graphics give me a nostalgic feeling, and the gameplay is smooth, fun, and user-friendly. I really enjoyed the concept and overall experience. Just one suggestion for the developers: please make the tutorial a bit more detailed so new players can understand all the mechanics easily.
