Most people that do not recommend getting this one do so because game is unfinished and most likely never will be. However, if you do know that it is in such state and do not really care, you still might wonder if it's worth getting. • Unskipable cutscenes and credits. • At most around 4 hours long to complete both of released episodes (~2 hours each). • Choices do not matter. You have them, but most dialogues that you pick end up the same, often with same reaction from NPC to all of them. • Visually looks meh by now and many of character animations are bad. • There's no difficulty settings and with elderly-friendly QTE is in the game, I would've wanted to have difficulty settings just to have it faster. • Mini-game with board for linking evidence is one of better parts of the game, my only criticism about it is how text for it written, where some of it are repeats of same thing. • Shooting in the game is nothing special itself, while also making everything feel less real with the amount of goons it throws at your character. • Easy enough 100% achievements if you care about those. This game’s play style reminds me very much of Batman Telltales. If you are unfamiliar with that one, this game is very cozy and cute. While the game is set in the 1950’s it has a 1920’s vibe to it. You investigate/search items as you do in resident evil. Fair warning I bought this game just for the teddy bear badge and played it knowing I love noir detective style games. I was hooked more than I expected. I love the aesthetic from the jazz + art, to the shooting animation. The shooting animation is very cute cartoon like and fun with a nostalgic feel to it. The story holds a spooky horror vibe to it (I even jumped once or twice) but I did not expect parts to be as grim as they were. They touch on topics larger games do not. The hugest downside is how this game is unfinished, I would have loved to see it through. They really left you on a cliff hanger and the final moments are fairly dark. *For achievement hunters, if you miss a clue on your first play through you cannot skip scenes or anything on your second play through so you will have to invest extra time either prior or after to get them all. [h1] Actually not that bad. Two most important aspects of detective game are done well, that is story and dialogs. Voices are good and you can safely treat this one as interactive movie. Visuals are not the best nowadays, but game make up for with distinctive use of colors and artistic choices set in monochrome scenery. Most of the time you gonna speak to characters and listen to dialog, occasionally jumping into action or just taking part in shootout. Pace is slow so make sure to make some room to get yourself known with the story. Ok, detective game with unusual approach, might seem boring at first but story is actually good. Well, it seems like the series has been discontinued, which is too bad. I do hate this episodic format anyway. But I'll still give this a positive review because it was fine as a first episode. The game is very cinematic, which is both a good and bad thing. The art direction is phenomenal, with the black-white-red color scheme, and the background graphics look great. Certain visual effects, like the rain and the part where the protagonist is walking through text, are quite original and well done. The characters are mostly fine, except for their rigid facial expressions and awkward movements, but that has a sort of nostalgic charm, so it's actually kind of endearing. But there are no camera controls, which is really frustrating when you're walking around. Sometimes you even have to make the protagonist walk toward you, so you have no idea where he's going. Also, bro walks super slow. The gameplay is extremely easy. It's mostly an interactive movie, which is fine, although the choices seem annoyingly meaningless. The story is okay.
