BongBongCapy is a charming desktop companion built around an extremely simple idea: ordinary keyboard and mouse activity becomes a form of passive progression. BongBongCapy is such a simple little game, but I honestly found it pretty charming. It is basically a desktop companion where a cute capybara hangs around while I use my keyboard and mouse. There is no complicated adventure or stressful challenge here. Instead, the whole idea is to have this little animal quietly accompany me while I work, browse or play other games. It is a very relaxed concept and I think it works surprisingly well for what it is. The main mechanic is really clever in its simplicity. Whenever I press keys or click the mouse, the capybara copies those actions and I earn merit points. I do not have to constantly stop what I am doing to interact with it, which is exactly what makes the desktop companion idea work. I can just leave it running and naturally build up points while using my computer. It feels more like having a tiny pet sitting beside me than playing a traditional game. Those merit points can then be used for random draws that give me different appearances and costumes for the capybara. This is easily my favourite part because collecting silly outfits gives the otherwise very basic experience a small goal to work towards. I liked checking what I would …
