With friends, it's fun like a normal Borderlands game, but playing it solo is boredom squared. Most side missions have you running around from point A to C, then back to B, without actually doing anything at those points. Added the Fun of not having fast travel to like 30% of the maps, adds a lot of walking/driving on a low gravity moon. Not fun. You will find yourself standing in front of doors and waiting for people to open stuff up more times than you can count. This gets really annoying on True and Ultimate Vault Hunter difficulties—even more so if you play multiple characters for achievements. The plot is weird because if DAHL just didn't ♥♥♥♥ up the space station and [spoiler] Lilith didn't ♥♥♥♥ up his face and betray Jack [/spoiler], he would be a psycho, but not the genocidal type. He'd be more like a normal raider. I don't really get what the provocation was for everything that occurred, but maybe that's just me. All in all, I can say that with a friend it's enjoyable, but definitely don't buy it if you plan to play alone.

tl;dr: Backtracking simulator. Most story characters are insufferable caricatures that make you want to rip your ears out every time they open their mouths. Maps are designed like gigantic mazes with only one fast travel point situated in the most inconvenient location. Combat is the only thing that saves this game. 4.5/10. After having played Borderlands 2 and 3, I can confidently say that this is by far the worst of the three. Let's start with what the game does well, because there sure as hell are a LOT more negatives than positives. Firstly, the general movement and combat is great. Moon gravity makes the compulsory long walks across the map as you inevitably have to backtrack much less tedious, and also adds a nice dimension of complexity to combat. Otherwise, combat is generally the same as in Borderlands 2, which also has great combat, so it would be really difficult to screw up there. Secondly, the game contains a LOT less aggravating enemies than in Borderlands 2. Yes, there are still Stalkers, but there are no more Buzzards, no more Skags, no more Rakks - just most enemies that made Borderlands 2 absolutely miserable have been removed, which is great. I just started playing this game again after a long time and I remember just what I liked about it. The best part is when on the space station and get to see the space laser it fires down to Pandora. I love it! Other parts that are nice is the introduction story to Hyperion and Jack, who is the greatest villain ever created.

Hope you like mandatory side missions...
