Box's Dream

Box's Dream is an almost direct 1:1 ripoff of the 1990's Flash game, Sokoban. Gameplay consists of exactly what you do in Sokoban, moving boxes around to the right places so you can finish each level. That's all there is to this, they've ripped off someone else's Flash game from the 1990's and are trying to get paid for it. From a technical perspective, the game doesn't meet basic minimum requirements that most PC gamers expect as standard. A choice was made to use obsolete, decades old retro pixel "art" as a substitute for contemporary PC graphics. It's unclear if this is due to lack of budget or talent, regardless, the overall visual quality of the game is extremely low as a result. There's no options to change the resolution for the game or customise the graphics settings. There's no way for gamers to ensure this is running at the native resolution of their displays... there's no guarantee this game will look right on any PC as a result of this hamfisted design decision. There's no way for gamers to try improve the low quality graphics. Got this game in an DIG bundle and it's worth more than what I paid for the entire bundle by itself. (It's also well worth the asking price here on Steam) It will make you think with brilliant puzzle designs that slowly get more and more challenging. The only thing I'd like to see added is an option to allow you to go back and replay any level at any time. So after you've beat levels 1-10 for example, show all the levels you've beat so you can back to them. Other than that, this is definitely a great little puzzle game and well worth the money. 9/10

The game puzzles are nice and they get really challenging. The game is not user friendly and I see two major problems: 1. When you load the game, it always pre-selects "New Game" option. If you click on it by accident while intending to load the puzzle level quickly, all your progress is gone and you have to start from the the beginning. 2. There is no option of level select!!! Let's say I enjoyed one puzzle level and I want to play it again later. In this game ...you can't! You have to play the game from the beginning to the end or just resume from where you left off. I only recommend this game for those who want to play challenging puzzles. I would personally wait for an update that adds a level selection menu.
