Brick Layer

I love this game, its just what I always wanted from a lego style game. No gimmicks, no brand affiliations, just comfy, casual brick building. I would recommend a UI element that appears next to the unplaced brick in build-mode that displays simple directions for brick placement (arrow keys are not visible in controls menu). It would also be nice if there was a toggle between holding or simply pressing the build mode button once to engage/disengage build mode to combat finger fatigue over long building sessions. It would also be nice to interact with the animals in the game, perhaps even placement for farms and other roleplay ideas. I look forward to the progression of the game and it's updates, to see more added and refined.

Ever dream when you were a kid of just building stuff endlessly into a huge lego city or world? this is that game. Albeit with some small rough edges/jank to get used to. Pros - A lot of nice Quality of life features (pause weather, remap controls, etc) - Variety of bricks colors, and special bricks (i.e. light source) - Extremely cheap @ $5 right now - Music / Soundtrack is above average - Works fine on steamdeck, but camera is a bit annoying, some menu text won't show all the way on the screen on the deck; also had to change some controls but otherwise works great Cons - A little clunky in building, also moving around feels a little un-fluid or unnatural but isn't that noticeable - You really need to use a mouse to play, I tried trackpad on my laptop (and even with re-mapping controls it was difficult to play). Have not tried with a controller - Not a crazy amount of brick types yet, but hopefully more will be added - No cloud saves Graphically & CPU wise was slightly demanding for the type of game it is, until I looked at the night sky & other weather features wow, well done dev. Game with a little bit of polishing & updating will be awesome

Tech Demo. Makes my PC works as much as Final Fantasy VII Rebirth because obviously the developers doesn't know how to optimize Unreal Engine, the game is a barren land and the selection of pieces is meager. Music is nice, congrats to the composer. Next game you make please disable head bobbing, ESPECIALLY when there is no FOV slider, got motion sickness before even trying to build something.

So...I think it has a lot of potential, but...needs a lot of work still. I met the developer a little while back, and there is a lot of potential there I remember them showing off and discussing with them that this game could be. What I'd say where it stands right now, I'd recommend maybe an inventory system for keyboard controls. What I'm thinking for simplicity is: if you pick a block and a color keep it in hand, or better in a slot. On keyboard you could slot up to 1-9, or whatever works best for the dev(s). Then just need some editing perhaps on placement. Right now it is very precise but maybe a swappable placement system where you can choose the current system or swap it for attaching to the block your on. It would allow for quicker building if you have the inventory slots. One other problem I noticed, its setup basically as minecraft but...there's no way to turn off the day/night system. So...your stuck building in the dark or waiting for the sun to come up. I think the day/night system is great, in that you want to be able to have the ability to see a building, or whatever, in night as well as day. Just would help to have the option to turn it off while building. Hones…
