Brigador Killers

I'm sure this game will be good at some point, if it isn't already. But I'm not recommending it, based on how I've seen the developers treat members of their community post-release. I find it absolutely insane that you would ban some of your most dedicated fans over the most harmless things possible. I'm not sure if this is just a rogue, power-tripping moderator, or if the whole team is like this, but it doesn't matter, since this behavior reflects on the whole company and is inexcusable. Banning people for simply talking too much on the only places where they can vent their criticisms and frustrations with an early access title, for no good reason, is just bad PR.

The setting, music, and vibes are top notch. The extremely flexible scale of the combat is only just being explored, but there is a lot of potential there. You have combat at the level of running around throwing bricks at the heads of sewer vagrants going up to full blown mechs trashing the whole level, and more options getting added with each update. There is greater narrative focus than in the prior brigador game, having character pop ups and text dialog, which adds to the overall feel and grounds you more into the story even if fairly basic. Unlike prior game, there is a level of inventory and light resource management to the game that was absent in brigador. Also combat is more granular and intimate. enemy weapons and vehicles have pretty much the same stats as yours, so while you are engaging against greater numbers, you have to be much more tactical about it if the enemy is closely matched to you. Very much looking forward to how this title grows and develops.

A game with great potential, I hope the dev team will be able to pull this off. The game is in early access, so it has a lot of rough edges, so keep it in mind. There is also a free demo, so you can try it for free!

Throwing rocks at people has never felt this narratively rich. The writing and worldbuilding is just as good, if not better, than the first game. The slow and steady increase in your capabilities are matched with rising stakes that complement one another quite well. Keep in mind this game is very much in Early Access, there's some clunky stuff. In spite of that, the foundation is solid. I think a lot of the negative reviews didn't bother to pay attention to what this game was about, unfortunately - but to be fair, the demo could have been more succinct about what to expect long term. Oh and read or listen to the Brigador Killers book. You will enjoy this game even more because of it.
