About Caligo
Caligo is a small atmospheric walking simulator. It's an interactive story where you mainly have to look and listen.
Caligo is the darkness everyone descends into one way or another, and to each of us it's something different. For some it's a short but exciting adventure, some will see it as a place to relax. Yet others will be reminded of their worst nightmare, while for a few, it might come as a revelation. One thing is certain however: everyone will have to answer one big question.
What you'll find there:
- Various characters - each will have their own connection to the story
- Unusual settings, each with its own unique atmosphere
- 100% voiced dialogs which actually make sense and which will eventually form the full story of the protagonist
- A choice that'll help understand yourself better

A short, atmospheric walking simulator with beautiful visuals. I took tons of screenshots, especially in the first half of the game. The dreamlike story unfolds through brief memories and leads to a final choice. Finished in 1.5 hours, with chapter select to see the other ending3 found this helpful
I would definitely remove the adventure and horror tags from this because it's just a really REALLY slow walking sim (please, a sprint, my liege, if you would be so kind?) through some very pretty atmospheres. There's like, no story to this, you're God and also the first/only man and you just make worlds to putz around in over and over again but none of the "characters" care about what you're doing or why and they're like, "eh just do whatever, it doesn't super matter". And the "cutscenes" are you and another character, unmoving, staring at each other, while dialogue VERY slowly plays. t least let me spin in a circle or have something to actually look at
2.2 I really did not enjoy this even at it's short length. At it's core it's a slow 'walking sim' that is trying to evoke a feeling of walking through paintings that is trying to have a theme and depict a specific message. But it starts to explain itself too much whilst also getting very preachy on what it is trying to say and too in your face. The environments are mostly pretty boring and uninspiring looking, Some of the parts within them show some interest but on their wholes are just boring. The voice acting was incredibly poor, from the robotic delivery to the stunted script. The MC has a strange accent that is a weird blend that sounds european at times but mostly blends into like a kind of 'New York' esque impression, it's quite jarring. There's 20 collectible ink drawings to find through the game that don't respawn after being picked up on subsequent plays (from chapter select) but there is also no library I saw to look at them later. Some areas had objects LoD models popping in and out at a fairly close distance which was jarring especially for the 'art' aspect. The final area especially had entire huge crystal portions that were flickering based on angle which looked re…
Not sure this game is worth the 71 cents I bought it for. Maybe it was dope in 2017, but here in 2026, I wanted to take off a finger for every minute the game continued to linger. Not a fan. But if you like boring walking simulators - not that I have a problem with walking simulators, mind you, but BORING ones - this game might be the one for you. Live long and prosper.
I now wave at my shadows at midnight they waved back and asked for a DLC with more ghosts
I unfortunately can't really recommend Caligo, I found it to be a bit of a dread to get through. Like most walking sims your pace is so very slow, luckily there isn't a ton to walk to. Caligo is quite short. However, what makes it feel like it drags on more than the slow pace is the delivery of the dialogue. Asides from the writing not being stellar (there are some interesting thoughts around through), the cadence of how the sentences are spoken is awkward. I often tried to read ahead and skip speaking. The one positive I will give Caligo is that it is very visually interesting, the 3rd area in the game is very cozy and vibrant and the 2nd to last is very interesting to look at. Sometimes I felt like I was just a 3D camera observing someone's cool modeling assignment.
