The Mooseman

Gorgeous and really interesting art style, the music was nice too (except for one part where the beautiful instrumental music cuts out at an awkward place and loops). One major problem I found was that it only had partial controller support so I could control the character with the controller but to go to the menus I had to use the keyboard, which sucked and made gameplay kinda awkward. On top of that I was unable to click or choose any of the items/myths in the inventory/collection, so I couldn't learn about the myths as i discovered the items and lit the totems. I imagine this probably would have made the experience that much more enjoyable if the menus were actually functional. Not sure why that was the case for me but it did take away from the overall experience. Despite that, it's still a really well done game with a few fun puzzles and a cool mechanic where you go in-between the spirit world and mortal world by use of a mask. It's more of a slower paced game where you focus on enjoying the story and art. Great atmosphere too, slightly spooky. Despite the frustrations with the menus and partial controller support id still recommend this one.

It's a very short game, but worth experiencing at least once.

The Mooseman is 2D Adventure and Puzzle game, a copy of Limbo, but set in Russian mythology. Main character is a Mooseman who is essentially a wandering shaman, that traverses the lands. On his journey there is peril. Some ancient forest beasts and mythical creatures that pose threat. Since he is pacifist, he must use cunning to doge them. He has his shamanic form that can be activated at any time, and from that form he can see out-worldly creatures hidden from the human form, some mythical forms in the background like constellations of stars come to life, cave drawings come to life, and so on. The more you progress the story the more mythos is explained. There is the instance of the story where you assume the role of the hunter, and for the first time you can kill wild animals with arrows. It is not terrible, specially for people who like games like Limbo, which I disliked. It is recommended for Limbo fans, not recommended for others. I will still put the thumbs down, since there is no neutral option.

Great game and quite original game focused mostly on atmosphere and beautiful design (both visuals and audio, I recommend playing with headphones). I recommend it to people who like easy and artistic games for one afternon. Also for these interested in more exotic mythologies and rock art.
