About The Mooseman
✦ AI summary
You play as the Mooseman, a mystical being who can see hidden spirits and artifacts across three interconnected worlds inspired by Finno-Ugric mythology, solving riddles and unlocking abilities as you journey from the Lower World through the Middle World to the Upper World. This atmospheric adventure stands out with its unique visual style based on Perm animal art and haunting Komi folk music, immersing you in forgotten myths and tribal secrets.
Welcome to the mysterious world of ancient myth, based on finno-ugric culture of bygone pagan times.

Long-long time ago the world was created out of an egg-shell by a god named Yen. In the murky depths of the endless ocean the Lower World was born. The Middle World was made for the men to dwell, and the Upper World was were the ancient gods would reside. Multitudes of spirits dwell among the layers of creation, guarding their secrets in the dark. Embark on a journey through all the worlds of ancient myth, find artefacts of Chud' tribes and solve all the mysteries of finno-ugric tales.
You are the Mooseman and you have the ability to see all that is hidden to the mortal eye. You are about to visit three layers of this universe - the first one is the Lower World where the spirits of the dead reside.
Side scrolling adventure with a bit of platforming and unique story. Simple yet fun to play. You moose, you loose!
3 found this helpful
Gorgeous and really interesting art style, the music was nice too (except for one part where the beautiful instrumental music cuts out at an awkward place and loops). One major problem I found was that it only had partial controller support so I could control the character with the controller but to go to the menus I had to use the keyboard, which sucked and made gameplay kinda awkward. On top of that I was unable to click or choose any of the items/myths in the inventory/collection, so I couldn't learn about the myths as i discovered the items and lit the totems. I imagine this probably would have made the experience that much more enjoyable if the menus were actually functional. Not sure why that was the case for me but it did take away from the overall experience. Despite that, it's still a really well done game with a few fun puzzles and a cool mechanic where you go in-between the spirit world and mortal world by use of a mask. It's more of a slower paced game where you focus on enjoying the story and art. Great atmosphere too, slightly spooky. Despite the frustrations with the menus and partial controller support id still recommend this one.
Great game and quite original game focused mostly on atmosphere and beautiful design (both visuals and audio, I recommend playing with headphones). I recommend it to people who like easy and artistic games for one afternon. Also for these interested in more exotic mythologies and rock art.
I wish I could recommend it. Lovely art style. Exposure to a cool culture. Decent music. It just doesn't work well as a game though. Extremely basic and sometimes very clunky gameplay. The presentation is not very good, and some of the time I was just struggling with UI because menus were not even working right.
