About Call of Juarez
Play as either a desperate fugitive or his righteous pursuer in this Wild West FPS where you'll duel with period firearms, ride horses, and use dynamic physics to create emergent chaos across beautifully realized frontier landscapes. Each character offers distinct gameplay styles and abilities, from stealthy sneaking to fast-paced revolver duels, all backed by innovative simulations of fire, liquids, and smoke that make every encounter feel unpredictable and visceral.
Call of Juarez is an epic adventure western themed FPS game. The player alternately assumes the roles of two distinct, antagonistic characters: a sneaking fugitive Billy and his hunter the reverend Ray. Apart from the highly interesting, emotional and psychological aspect of the link between the two characters, the player will experience a variety of gameplay with many differences whilst playing a particular character.
The game features fast paced revolver duels using historically accurate firearms, horseback riding, mounted combat and stealth actions in memorable locations set after Western movies. Emergent gameplay based on accurate simulation of not only rigid bodies and rag-dolls but also liquids, gases, fire and smoke makes the gameplay innovative and non-linear.
- Very serious approach to the Wild West theme and detailed reconstruction of the character and visuals of that times
- The use of physics and innovative simulation of fire, liquids, dust, smokes and gases to construct emergent gameplay
- State of the art graphics making use of the top technology graphics cards features on todays cards
- Playing 2 distinct characters with different abilities and different gameplay
- Horseback riding and saddle shooting, gunfighter duels
- Using the whip to fight, move objects and move the player's character
- Legendary weapons form the Gold Fever era and full akimbo mode for the hands on approach
- Exhilarating storyline with full of twists and turns in this exciting Western Genre.

good story, decent gameplay given its age, but ♥♥♥♥ the platforming in this game.1 found this helpful
Fun, but crashed a bunch which was expected. I still see the ♥♥♥♥ ass mountain climbing mission in my dreams.
Call of Jank

What I liked about the game

The game has a nice selection of guns from that period. I like that the weapons you find vary in condition.
The gameplay, despite being janky, is quiet enjoyable. You can duel-wield, ride a horse, and gun duel. Each character has a special ability, like Ray being able to go into concentration mode and fast fire, while Billy can use the bow, which slows down time when aiming.
I like that you can interact with things in the environment, like open drawers, pick up barrels, and smack a horse in the ass to move it out of the way.
The stealth sections in the game were bearable. I do like that the game sometimes allows you to go in guns blazing when playing as Billy, instead forcing you to go stealth.
Throughout the game you will be visiting the typical Wild West locations, like the mines, a Mexican fortress, Wild West town, and have a shootout on a train.
I like that you get to play as two different characters. Billy is more stealth focused and ray is just a walking tank.
The game has collectables to find (wanted posters).
The voice acting was decent.
…
niceeeee
Really awesome, old school game. A little difficult and may require a quick look at a guide here or there but a ton of fun. Story is very well done. I miss games like this!
The gunplay is so simple yet so satisfying. Amazing game.
