About CAMEO: CCTV Detective

Play as CCTV Detective Lopez as he solves crimes through the ever faithful lens of a security camera. The crime rate in the small City of ChurchView is rising, and it is up to Lopez to lower it.

Head to the crime scenes to find cameras and clues in the area that may help solve the crimes, then it's back to the office to crawl through the footage until you've found your culprit.

While gameplay is predominantly set in front of Detective Lopez’s computer, where you can find his emails, the C.A.M.E.O Software (Camera Application for Monitoring Evaluation and Observation), video games and a working internet browser and webcam, the rest of the game puts you on foot at the crime scenes where you must search for cameras and clues that can be used in the investigation.

In the fictional city of ChurchView, locations include gas stations, car parks, stores and motels, while crimes can include Robbery, Arson, Hold Ups and even Murder - Can you solve them all?

An interesting game that you should be able to complete in under 2 hours. You play as a detective who reviews CCTV footage for the police in order to answer questions about events/crimes. At its heart, CCTV Detective is like a hidden object game. For each scene, you find clues and cameras. Then, you watch CCTV footage searching for details. At times, you are asked to find a car in footage from a highway camera. Overall, it is a game that tests your ability to observe and report. Pros - does a good job of simulating the process of investigating a crime using video footage - at times, it feels very real. Cons - most scenes have 5 cameras with around 2 - 6 minutes of footage each. This means you are sitting for quite a bit. For me, this felt very passive and I grew restless and started jumping the tapes forward to shorten the time I needed to watch. I'd recommend this game to those who enjoy using their powers of observation and don't mind watching more than 'doing.' The game auto-saves and provides you multiple chances to recover if you get an answer wrong. Over all, this indie team has put together a game that has a unique premise and will certainly make you pay attention. As an…

I like playing Wreck Tangle Games. There is an innocence only an Indie game maker can create which I find very pleasant. The scenery looks like something from a Model Railroader but the textures are so interesting I have a good time just looking at the crafting of the scenes. Puzzling is pretty straightforward but also interesting. Just when you think you got it all figured out a little curve ball comes your way to keep you on your toes and shows us the developer put some effort in creating a good gaming experience. There are a few mini games here as well a very crazy game of Putt Putt golf. Don't even try to use the laws of Physics here, just swing away and hope for the best : ) Eventually that over sized white ball will ever so slowly sink into the putt adding to a nice set of achievements. This could be a nice game to play with a young teen. Slightly mature theme but not any more so than a cop show on TV, and moves quickly enough to keep their attention.
