I've played for 10 min (rest is afk time). I did not enjoy it one bit, difficult to see the right pieces, controls are terrible and it lags even with the best pc. Not that much to do in this game anyways.1 found this helpful
Tried checkers but the controls are off putting especially when the game settings are changed to columns. How hard can it be to simply allow fast efficient board moves without the sticky drag & drop mechanism. I was able to somewhat play in classic mode but not in columns mode. Just keep it simple & allow the players to move the board pieces intuitively without delay. I'll recommend it because it has potential but it needs to be re-worked to make game-play smoother.1 found this helpful

"canVERSE" is a bit of a train wreck. It's an abandoned Early Access environment simulator that lets you play classical boardgames (Chess, Draughts etc) against another player (hint: There are no other players) with a number of spectators (hint: If there's no players, how many spectators do you think there's gonna be?? Correct, none). It was abandoned by the developers in a massively unoptimized, buggy and incomplete state over a year ago and will never be completed. But that's okay because there's no players. Turns out nobody was that interested in a fancy backdrop for classical boardgames that you can play for free in a browser if you really want to. A game for nobody, with nobody in it. The graphics in this game are really quite good, which at least makes the game look more appealing. And while it's vital for any game to have impressive visuals (gaming is a visual medium, after all), there's more to a game than just the graphics. To be worth a gamers time, the game must match top tier visuals with top tier gameplay, and that's not happening here. This is "free" enough, at least you won't be expected to spend any more money after you download this, but just because so…
I love the graphics
