Backgammon

The game is painfully slow. I don't think whoever programmed the ai has ever played backgammon. The computer makes bad move after bad move presenting no challenges.

The AI is lacking. You can easily win a game because AI makes so many bad moves. I bought the game but frequent games have been halted with a screen saying trial mode with an offer to buy a licence. Would not be worth installing it even if it was free. It was most certainly a mistake to buy it. Update: played extensively since original review. I intentionally moved my pieces to where they could get knocked off and calculated odds of AI getting rolls to hit them. It would be impossible for AI to get rolls to hit my pieces as frequently as it did if the rolls were random.

Pros: Graphics are excellent *Cons: biggest setback is the UNREALISTIC rolls of the dice that always come up in favor of the computer

It has absolutely NO strategy built in until you leave a piece open, then it takes it out seven times in a row without fail. I mean there's bad luck & then there this. Restarted the game, had no choice but to leave 2 pieces open & guess what it did instantly ... BOTH in 1 roll. Yeah, I'm done. If you can manage to not leave any pieces open, it seems to move it's pieces completely at random. On the good side, the graphics are beautiful & I love the tables & pieces you can choose from.

Have the creators of this program ever actually played backgammon??? There appear to be no strategic moves, no building of home board, nothing. Easy to at least gammon on the Expert level. A total waste of money. Avoid this one like the plague.
