sadly its a dead game, the servers contain no players. maybe due to it being so simple and not having a lot to accually upgrade, the units are a little limited and the lack of online make this game a difficult one to recommend

hate to pick on the little guy, but unfortunately this game is not quite worth any amount of money. It takes all of 5 minutes to see just about everything there is Warlords: Call to Arms by Ben Olding Games is a free and far superior alternative that features far more to do and see. highly recommend

Castle Kingdom Wars is a simple auto-battler game where the aim is to destroy an enemy Castle while simultaneously defending our own. This is achieved by creating various military units and sending them across "No Man's Land" until they meet opposing forces and a skirmish occurs, although consistent with the genre we have virtually no input in the way how our troops fight. They merely march onwards and hack away at any foes they encounter, while missile troops stand back and hurl projectiles into the melee. At our disposal are 7 Medieval and 3 Fantasy based unit types, each with their own strengths and weakness against each other. These must be initially purchased with coin - collected during battles - and added to the army but with only 5 unit sots available we must choose which ones to add and ignore. This adds a little strategy as we try and second guess the troops an enemy will deploy. Do we flood the battlefield with inexpensive but weak soldiers like Peasants and Skeletons, go for a ranged offensive using Catapults, Archers and spell casting Mages, or indeed rely on the speedier Cavalry for victory? Each unit can be upgraded 4 times to its maximum abilities. While…

Surprisingly Addictive, Even If It’s a Bit Janky So I picked up Castle Kingdom Wars on a whim, and honestly? I’ve been having way more fun than I expected. It’s not perfect — far from it — but there’s something about it that keeps me coming back. The best part? You can actually command your army to retreat and defend your castle mid-battle. It sounds simple, but it’s a game-changer. No more watching your last few troops get slaughtered in a hopeless charge. You just hit “defend,” and they rally back home like smart little warriors. Love that. Archers miss sometimes, which is oddly satisfying. It makes the battles feel less scripted and more chaotic — in a good way. And even when you lose, you still get some gold, so it never feels like a total waste of time. Now, the rough stuff: there’s no tutorial. I had no idea how to move the camera or what anything did. You kinda just figure it out as you go. The camera controls are clunky, the music loops endlessly, and the sound effects are super barebones. Also, every battle takes place in the same grassy courtyard. Would kill for a forest or a mountain pass or literally anything else. The AI feels like it’s cheating sometimes — like, ho…

How did this get a positive rating? It's a pretty mediocre and bare-bones auto-battler. Completely lost interest after just 3 levels.
