About Castle of Lord Velimir

BACKSTORY
In the heart of the Earth lies the ancient city of Agartha, where gods and higher beings reside. Once, in cycles long past, humans were welcomed into Agartha, partaking in its divine grace and wisdom. Until a grievous sin, committed by humanity, led to their expulsion, and Agartha's gates were closed to mortals forever. The gods, with their celestial foresight, constructed Arks to ensure the survival of the chosen ones – humans who would bear the knowledge and warnings of each cycle to future generations.

STORY
Our tale follows Lord Velimir, a warrior embarking on the ultimate quest to breach the gates of Agartha and seek forgiveness for humanity’s past transgressions. Velimir's journey takes him through dungeons, underworld, and wastelands, each fraught with its own dangers and mysteries.

GOAL
Throughout his journey, we uncover lost knowledge and ancient artifacts that shed light on the true nature of the cycles and the divine expulsion. This knowledge holds the key to understanding the past sins and the path to redemption.
----------
For countless eons the world has been destroyed and nearly every living thing killed, leaving behind no more than a few survivors to warn forthcoming generations of the destruction that awaits. Every survivor tells the same rumour, that only one thing survives this destruction unscathed: Agartha, the first city.
Time is up. The cycle must continue and this world will be destroyed.
What Steam players say
Recent verbatim reviews from Steam — separate from playze.io community reviews below.
Players universally criticize this game for lacking essential features and polish, including no settings menu, no controller support, poor UI design, significant technical issues like falling through maps and boss hitbox problems, and gameplay mechanics that fall far short of actual Soulslike games. A few reviewers acknowledge potential and suggest giving it a chance despite its rough state, but the overwhelming consensus is that it feels more like an unfinished technical demo than a complete game, with severe quality of life problems that undermine the experience.
Alright so this is mostly a first impressions review since, no offense to the dev, this *is* a Unity game, and I don't want any Unity games on my PC after the fiasco. I also received this game for free from the dev, which I appreciate, and I apologize in advance to them. First and foremost: this is supposedly a Soulslike game. It has a fixed, keyboard and mouse control scheme, with no controller support. There is *no* in game options menu; no volume options, no mouse input sensitivity. The UI is barebones at best; the Escape menu seems like it's a controls list, but it's missing a number of controls, including the Inventory button. The Escape menu will also appear *underneath* the inventory if you hit Escape with the inventory open. This one is more a "my PC" issue, but the game also had awful performance; under 10 FPS, in the starting room. Finally, a bug that I'm not sure the cause of but seems like something that should've been noticed: When attacking, your character will attack continuously, without further input, until your weapon is sheathed; it will immediately drain all of your stamina, and then continue attempt to attack whenever your stamina regenerates enough to do…15 found this helpful
Absolute trash and asset flip. No any options or settings. No block\parry. Only zero gravity jump, zero physic. No target lock, camera and combat is awful. No any stats, no leveling, no exp etc. No weapon descriptions or damage (i got 10 in 20 min) - just a different pictures. Maps full of glitches and holes, so you always fall through textures. First boss has no any hitbox, and when he died his corpse continue to сhase and killing me. Game freeze even with 120 fps. Dev brazenly assures everyone that his game is good) https://youtu.be/i1MSVKfasMs12 found this helpful
Nothing close to Blade-OfDarkness-Like games such as Blade Of Darkness, Dark Souls, Elden Ring. Not even remotelly close. Videos and Screenshots are suggestign this game even so remotelly is BladeOfDarkness-like as DarkSouls or EldenRing. And gameplay shows - its NOT. Its not a game even. Some technical demo - may be. Rough. Far from good experience. Refund.6 found this helpful
The game has potential, but at this moment it lacks a lot of quality of life fixes that would make the game more enjoyable. Notably: -It is very easy to fall of the map, literally in the first corridor. -Lighting issues, it's either too dark or too light, no in-between, it lacks a proper dungeon feeling to it. -The lack of settings on the start menu is quite surprising to me. -It is not possible to continue the old save just start a new one if the game is exited. (As far as I could see) -The UI also feels wonky, and not responsive. -This could be an issue of my PC but I don't think so. Either way the level loading time is atrocious, developer probably didn't incorporate level splitting or any optimizations at all. -No checkpoints -Upon death, only the player resets, not the whole level, which enables the enemies to spawn kill you most of the time. Overall, these changes have to be made to increase the quality of the game, since I believe this is the developer's first game. I am giving a positive review, as a chance to fix these issues, as this isn't even a early access game and these issues should not exist in a complete product.2 found this helpful
