Cavern of Dreams

A must-play for any fans of the N64 era of 3d platformers. Aesthetically, this game oozes with charm. Control wise, it is smooth as butter - and with the way you can build up speed and height, if you're good enough you can tackle challenges in ways that the developers didn't intend. A bit on the short side, but absolutely worth it.

Great atmosphere! Really sucked me in. More puzzley than most indie 3D platformers, it's the kind of game that rewards you for paying attention and experimenting. I never played any of the PS1/N64 era playformers that this is presumably cribbing from, but it stands up on it's own merits.

Great polish where it counts. Feels like a game I missed from years ago, but modern.

It’s a simple game at its core — just explore the world and collect all the eggs, mushrooms, and cards — yet it manages to progressively broaden that scope in an intelligent way thanks to the gradual unlocking of new abilities and areas. I have gripes about some of the puzzle design, but if you’re not averse to having a guide on hand when the going gets tough, it'll keep the frustration to a minimum while still allowing you to enjoy all the whimsy it has to offer. It’d be great to see Fynn and friends return for another adventure, but it also fits with [i]Cavern of Dreams[/i]’ vibe if it ends up being a throwback to the era of one-off mascot platformers like [i]Glover[/i] while being mercifully more playable than, well, [i]Glover[/i]. Either way, what’s encapsulated in Cavern of Dreams is a fun, laid-back collectathon full of nostalgia and love for a bygone era of games, and it's well worth a look if a time capsule with some modern conveniences sounds at all appealing to you." Gameplay is smooth and relaxing, some of the puzzles are estoreric as hell but like 95% of them are enjoyable to figure out

This's an extremely charming and adorable game that's just simply an all around good time from start to finish. Never once did I feel frustrated by the mechanics, the exploration is delightful, the mechanics are spectacular, and the progression is very rewarding. Secrets abound and progression is great, the world is perfect and this's definitely one of my favorite games, I couldn't possibly recommend it more~ 💜
