"But, why is the game called Chainless when there is so many chains?"
Ssshhh

"Why are the chains floating?"
... sshhhhh less questions more swinging.

I designed this game because I personally felt like VR lacked content that could be played for more than just a few hours - that was my goal, which I hope I have achieved in your opinion - if not, feedback is appreciated in the Discussion section!
Happy swinging!

✦ AI summary

Chainless is a free-to-play VR swinging platformer with randomly generated levels and a novel chain-based movement mechanic that players find satisfying once mastered. While some appreciate the minimalist aesthetic, solid audio design, and challenging gameplay with replay value, others criticize the game for relying heavily on asset store models, calling it a bare-bones tech demo rather than a fully-realized experience. The core mechanic shows promise but the execution and visual originality divide player opinion.

Chainless is a free to play VR game where you try to travel as far as you can go by swinging and climbing on chains. It worked on my HTC Vive and Index system, looked ok, played ok, sounded ok. Has some comfort settings in the options. Has random generated path ever run. Can be a challenge. Could have long play value. Try this game, you might like it.

"Chainless" is a lame VR tech demo where you swing on chains through a low poly Unity Asset Store town asset, and discover that VR exclusivity does not make asset flips any better. It's a pointless little tech demo, and nobody likes asset flips. The game graphics look better than you might expect (even if it is just one of the low poly town assets they ripped off), but that's just because it looks like some or all of them are "borrowed" from asset stores or wherever. Gamers can tell... and it comes across as insincere. There's also the old adage that those who lack the budget and talent to make their own game assets usually lack the budget and talent to do the rest of the job of game development properly, too. It's free... now, but it wasn't before. The developer was charging $5 USD for this. Price barriers, especially on low quality products, can be a direct cause of failure. It's a nice gesture for the game to be given away for free, but it also tells us that the game wasn't good enough to succeed as a paid product. Even though this is "free", it failed to appeal to the 120 million+ gamers on Steam. SteamDB showed the game peaked at only 3 concurrent players... this is …
