Chess for idiots

I thought *Chess for Idiots* was just another joke game making fun of chess by giving you a bunch of ridiculous rules and calling it a day. I was wrong. The graphics are simple. The gameplay is simple. It's chess. Except it feels like the game was designed by someone who looked at normal chess and thought, "This isn't confusing enough." You start playing and immediately realize that knowing how regular chess works might not be enough. Pieces behave strangely. Rules feel deliberately ridiculous. And somehow, you're still trying to win. What I love most is that the game doesn't take itself seriously at all. It's less about becoming a better chess player and more about trying to understand what the hell is happening before your opponent does. You think you've found a clever move. The game finds a way to make you regret it. I've played proper chess games with years of strategy, competitive ladders, and incredibly complicated openings. I don't remember most of them. I'll remember this one. Some games make chess easier to understand. *Chess for Idiots* somehow makes you question whether you ever understood chess in the first place. It's …
