About Christmas Horror

Merry Christmas!

Santa Claus is ready to take over your soul and gain a few more years of life. He only needs two days to get all the resources he needs for the ritual, so this is your time to escape!

You can escape on your own or finish off Santa, it's up to you, but we don't know how to finish him off yet... Just make sure he don't catch you or he will just make your life difficult.

Technical details:
Christmas Horror is a short horror FPS (first-person-shooter) game where you must find a way to escape Santa's house using the scattered items around. You have two ways of escaping and even a way to finish santa forever! As a child, you have severe limitations such as carryng only 1 item per time and of course, being slowly than Santa. The game has no save system, so you just have one chance to escape.

Good Luck and remember, be a nice child and maybe he forgives you.

This is another cheap entry into the "collect-things-while-avoiding-a-monster" horror genre. It is done in first-person view, and the monster is Santa. Yes, in this world Santa is evil. He kidnaps bad children, and performs a ritual to steal their souls in order to extend his own lifespan. This year, YOU are one of those children, and at the moment, you are the only one trapped in Santa's house. Playing as a small child is certainly different. You are about the height of an adult in crouch mode. However, as a child, you don't have crouch mode yourself. You are too short to reach certain things, but you are really good at jumping, and because of your small size you can only carry one item at a time. Yet, weirdly enough, you apparently seem to be able to handle a shotgun quite well. There are three ways to beat the game. You can escape by stealing Santa's sleigh, escape by his stealing his boat {Wait... Santa has a boat?}, or by killing him. Whatever route you choose to take, you need to run around both the house and the front courtyard, searching for the correct items to get the job done. At the same time, you must avoid Santa's relentless patrolling of th…

If the sound in this was better and actually could be heard, this is honestly a really decent horror collectathon game.

Overall Rating: 2/10... Is it a holiday themed horror game? Yes. They are few and far between, so for that, sure why not get it. But I just cannot get behind this gameplay. The graphics, repetitive gameplay, lack of story, weird janky mechanics.... oh and having to restart so many times to even figure out what I was supposed to be doing. Did not enjoy the experience. Would not recommend.

Although The Game Isn't Bad Concept Wise. What Makes The Game Fail, Is It's Gamebreaking Bugs. I Got Stuck In Places Where You Could Actually Hide From Santa. I Would Have To Restart The Game And Lose Progress (Which Was Frustrating). Since It Never Got Fixed (2024), I Can't In Good Faith Recommend This Game. My Gameplay: https://youtu.be/1cHmXa3sISE

At first, the game was a little unclear about what I had to do, but I figured it out quickly. We get 3 days to try to escape, and by each day we get caught, everything resets and we need to do all the tasks all over again, fair enough. My biggest issue is, for this instance, when I'd hide in closets if Santa opened them, I wouldn't get caught and he'd just leave, but I'd get stuck and have to force myself to restart the game, which is frustrating.

The game is real fun when you familiarize yourself with the surroundings. The Evil Santa himself is not scary looking but him coming out of the shadows without any warning was frightening. I like that there are multiple different ways to beat the game and that the difficulty slightly increases with each day although I would appreciate if the progress made was carried over to the next day – maybe except for the weapons safe, for example, as it makes sense for Santa to put the weapon away. Also, I heard that there was a possibility to play the game in hard mode which would move collectables around – I did not have this option in my version of the game but it sounds fun. Graphics-wise, I had to turn off the VHS effect early into the gamer because, in my opinion, it was distracting and actually took away from my enjoyment of the game.
