Chyma and the Toll of Time

[h1] Y'know, when they showed me "ball" in the trailer, I could hardly believe my eyes. And then "fallen obelisk"?? I thought it was too good to be true. But I played, and wouldn't you know, the trailer really did tell the truth. [/h1] [hr][/hr] [b] OK, but being real for a sec, I've finally got around to playing this, start to credits! [/b] Before digging into this review, I think I should preface a couple things. First, I know several people who worked on this game personally and I know *a little* of the development process from what I've heard through the grapevine. Second, this game being a college project, means that I would not expect AAA levels of polish, so some things that are minor flaws/bugs I'm probably not gonna mention. [h2] Gameplay [/h2] So there's roughly a couple hours of gameplay if you're going through blind and getting stumped on one or two of the later levels. Which is pretty solid for FTP game, no complaints there. I think the difficulty of said levels are pretty polar, with the solutions either being incredibly obvious or not fully understanding the solution even if you get through the level. It's not easy to design a puzzle game like this I'd imagine tho…

Banger little platformer. Plays well, good level progression, and an adorable art style. Great job!!! (Also, I played on keyboard. It was a bit finnicky in the more lengthy platforming sections, but otherwise felt fine.)

The puzzles are pretty cool and the difficulty amps up perfectly. The mc and the art style has a pleasant aesthetic. It's also very amusing to crush the enemies with the falling pillars. Overall, a fun experience that anyone can pick up and play.

I really enjoyed this game. It's a short game but still includes some lore and the artwork was so cute. Someone else said this game feels like it was made with love and I'm inclined to agree. The puzzles were challenging enough not to bore you to tears (yes, obviously they ease you into it to teach you the mechanics with the early levels), but not so hard that they are frustrating and make you want to quit. You can definitely finish this in one session. And seriously, if you're unsure about it, its FREE. Just give it a try, you might really like it :)

This game was awesome!! I really enjoyed the game mechanics, especially the "reverb". The levels weren't too easy, or too hard. Although, the last chapter was definitely the most challenging. This game really made me think and I thought the level progression was spectacular. The levels were beautifully designed, the overall craftmanship was incredible!
