About Clockwork
Clockwork, set in the great mechanical city of Watchtower, is a story about unlikely friends coming together to try to fix an imperfect world. The city’s mysterious past is questioned when Atto’s trusty pocket watch suddenly wakes up and introduces itself as Milli. Renewed with a sense of purpose, Atto and Milli must explore the city, control time and confront terrifying bosses, before it’s too late.
Game Features
Explore as Atto
Atto was only eight years old when his body was encased in metal. He remembers nothing of the time before. He only knows that someone must have given him his beautiful pocket watch, and a restless urge to fix things.
Explore as Milli
Milli is a masterpiece of mechanical ingenuity. She has detailed knowledge of the workings of Watchtower. And more importantly: of time itself. Yet, she knows nothing of her origins, except that she was meant for a great purpose.
Welcome to Watchtower
In the ruins of a dead world stands the great city of Watchtower. The city has survived for four hundred years, longer than most of its citizens can remember. A few whisper about the time of the great plague; a time when the desperate survivors grew so afraid for their fleshly bodies that they encased themselves in metal ones - bodies that would rust and break down, but never sicken and die. Since then they have waited, counting the days as the city falls into ruin.
Explore the many districts of the city of Watchtower; from the festering, corroded slums of Poisonville to the glittering spires of Crystal Heights. Each rendered in a unique hand-drawn steampunk art style.
A bit shallow and lifeless. Better to play Teslagrad or Braid if you're looking for puzzle platformer with some unusual steampunk setting. Overall not the worst but pretty much lacking.
6 found this helpful
The game is a confusing and frustrating puzzle game with unclear mechanics. The controls are clunky, and the gameplay feels repetitive. The lack of guidance makes it hard to enjoy.3 found this helpful
Clockwork is visually interesting and follows the familiar puzzle platformer formula, but it lacks polish and winds up being frustrating more than fun.
Honestly, its a d tier side scroller. Story is weak, and inconclusive, concept and art were neat. but thats all it had going for it. buggy as all hell. Crystal Heights needs HELP! ch 15 wont even scroll. just doing it blind. and ♥♥♥♥ that metal bird thing, we never even knew why or what it was. other than a hint that maybe cyco made it. but for what reason? game needs help, story needs to be finished. and for ♥♥♥♥ sakes, dont put achievements in your game if its just going to be bugged and i have to find work arounds to get them. would honestly not recommend to anyone to buy it, but if you get it for free, hell its okay i guess. i got it from humble bundle monthly. so atleast i didnt actually lose any money for this. but i did lose time. 4/10
Visually great and the story has some substance to it. But the controls and movement are annoying. The puzzles are good but sometimes frustrating to restart when you forgot to place a portal.
I had thought the game had decent puzzles, artwork, and music however the bugs literally killed the game for me some that I found were - often bringing the ghost girl out the camera wouldn't follow her - sometimes animations break and things slide across the ground - in the level before the boss battle in poisenville an enemy wouldn't step back across a trapdoor making the level literally impossible to beat because you need to dump the enemy using that trapdoor I even checked a walkthrough and that is exactly how they did it not to mention the first 10 levels or so are literally walk from one side of the screen to the other and the dialog up to this point has been very slow in development so because the game is literally impossible to beat due to bugs I cannot recommend this game
