About Commute

On your daily "commute" from work, you may sometimes encounter some situations.
Please observe your surroundings carefully and get home safely!

Do not overlook any anomalies.
If you find any anomalies, turn back immediately.
If you don't find any anomalies, do not turn back.

Commute is a short walking simulator inspired by The Exit 8.
The difference is that the pedestrian is a girl, and the progress of the game will be presented by the color of the sky(Sunset → Evening (clear to cloudy) → Late Evening (cloudy to clear)), and you still need to make the right choice to pass the level when you finally arrive home.

Play Time

20-60 minutes.

At first I was hating this game and my fingers were killing me from holding the W key and the SHIFT key for so long. But then I came back to the store page and realized my mistake, I was just going straight the whole time thinking it eventually ends but nope, Every time you see an anomaly, you have to turn back. Fingers still hurting so I came back to read the description again and then I see the game only progresses as you make the right choices and the sky gets darker. So I spent an hour making the wrong choices, once I realized what I was doing, it started becoming an alright game. For the price and the easy achievements its worth it. It can be completed in about 20 minutes if you know what you're doing. I wrote up a small guide here on some things to look out for and when you know you reach the end. Read the description before playing, otherwise you'll walk forever and wonder why you're not progressing. If you find it too slow, hold down the shift key to go a little faster. But once you've done that and know what you're doing it becomes rather pleasant walking up and down the street observing the scenery and the NPC. Similar vibe to Papers Please in that you'll eventually build up a mental checklist of things to look out for on each street run. Fairly basic once you've seen the various levels, but still good and worth playing every now and again if you like walking simulators or observation games.
