Corrupt (2023)

Thank god that Penusmic is a pixel art wizard, cause everything else in this game is shocking. It has the foundations of a pretty solid experience, but the developer clearly had no intentions of polishing this one out. There are thousands of typos, a bunch of untested level design, broken controller support, tons of baffling design choices, and I-frames don't work half the time. Also the volume bar resets when you enter a new room which I found to be the most exciting part of the game. The game released way before the developer estimated, and I think that the game would've at least been playable if it wasn't so rushed. The final boss was decent to say the least. For £9, this is a bit of a scam, however I hope the developer got a lot of experience when making this game, and I wish him all the best in the future. 2.5 / 10

Short little action game that offers nice art, fluid gameplay and cool atmosphere. The game's protagonist is an anonymous individual who wakes up next to a heap of corpses. A beating orb just next to it entices him to investigate. He receives a blade and understands exactly what must be done. Playing is simple and controls flow well. You only have the sword strike, jump, and dash, which also serves as a dodge. Later on, you obtain a gun and a massive sword attack, both of which come at a cost. Because you lose health with each activation, it's best to save them for challenging situations. There’s no stamina, so that’s one thing you don’t have to worry about. The game's world is linear. There is no opportunity to explore or make decisions. You're just traveling in a straight line and taking out enemies, listening to the occasional nice creature you meet along the road, and attempting to figure out what's going on in this odd setting. Basic dashing on platforms and over deadly pits is also included, but this is only difficult towards the end when you juggle different mechanics. The only vital information on the screen is a red bar in the upper left corner representing your heal…

Fun, challenging action platformer with a pleasantly moody atmosphere. Platforming is inventive and while it doesn't break the mold, it executes on its mechanics well. Combat is a bit lackluster, feels more like a puzzle to solve rather than a reaction based challenge. Very short, hit credits in my 1.5 hours, but worth it for the price.

this game is great, it could do with some good music, and possibly some other things, but overall its still a good game, just VERY ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoting.

Pretty fun game! Although some of the background elements in parts look like foreground elements i still give it a 8/10
