this is a fantastic take on Poker, where you essentially get special abilities to use across each game you play at a given table. the balancing is such that you do fundamentally still have to actually play Poker, but this adds more than enough spice to make things interesting. the fact that some of the other players--NPC's--have their own unique cheats too adds not only an added layer of dangers you have to take into account, but an additional layer of strategy, where you can deliberately attempt to screw over their cheats (e.g. one cheater only needs 4 cards for a straight, so you can break their straight in order to win with two pairs). I really enjoy the art style and world design. the first world has this nice space Western feel to it, accentuated by the music, which is nice. and the sound design is really great as well, everything just sounds right. walking around the planets, there's enough environmental detail to give you some nice vistas to look at, and lil secrets to scoop up. the controls when sprinting around the 3D environments are straightforward and satisfying, while the UI in games of Poker is intuitive and unobtrusive. on the whole, this game just does everythi…

I had no clue how to play Poker and really still loved this game. Have yet to make it off the first planet but if the others are as fun I know I would keep coming back to relax and unwind. Heads up for all streamers turn off the music and use your own. Overall fun and love the space trucker theme .. Oooo and real fast love how the ability to cheat is tied to "Gumption" super nice touch!

I've been playing poker games since vegas stakes on gameboy when I was a wee lad, texas hold'em on facebook back when jackbox "you don't know jack" was a facebook game, and I have hosted a texas hold'em tournament on twitch. I don't play for money, I just like the card mechanics; specifically of hold'em. This game adds the mechanic of cheating, which I thought was going to be pretty meh, but gosh dang does it really change up the mind games. You go in thinking "easy, I am gonna win every hand. But then you get the mental gymnastics of the "level" where one of the players always has an ace as one of their cards. Or the opponent that only requires 4 cards for a straight. It just adds so much fun to a known quantity. The settings, style and animations are just the cherry on top. I love that there are so many characters and they all have their little lore. If you love poker and wished card shark had an emphasis on the cardplay, this is for you.
