About CosmoPirates
CosmoPirates takes the card battling, deck building genre to the final frontier of cartoonish comedy in the endless, colorful space! Explore the galaxy, chose your battles, grow your forces and build your ultimate deck to take on the dreaded CosmoPirates overlord... and take their place!

With each run, the game presents you with a new, procedurally-generated galaxy full of bounty, danger, oddball characters, and high adventure. You will explore it freely taking on the challenges and quests in the order you think is best. Be cautious or daring - your crew looks up to you for the winning strategy!

Gadgets, weapons, gambits, and strategems - each card can change the tide of battle. Find them while exploring, buy them, win them in combat, and make sure you figure out the best combos and synergies. Will you lick a battery to gain extra power, or read comic books for extra action points?

In CosmoPirates your destiny takes you on a quest to rise to power and put an end to the great pirate overlord's reign of terror. The overlord must die! Die! DIE! As soon as they do, you take their place, effectively ending your run. The next time you play, you'll be up against your previous character, with all the power they acquired in the previous run.
This game was crafted by two passionate developers. We invite you to share your thoughts, ideas, and any issues you encounter. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and we are dedicated to making CosmoPirates the best it can possibly be!

Strange mechanics. Strange economy. Its not a roguelike builder, its more like predefined path where you collect until certain moment, game doesnt make sense anymore, because you start it with the powerful items. I didnt like it, especially the economy. Also bugs. And its more like a flash game.1 found this helpful
its complicated, the first few dozen times you need to collect money only to amass items. money + items are the only things staying with you at death and if you later win you use said items to enhance your deck such that you win easier. similar with the ship, some ships&items seem to have similar texts! the deck cant have cards removed easily, that costs 100 gold. so pick your winnings carefully- this rogue deckbuilder aint easy or simple.1 found this helpful
CosmoPirates delivers a chaotic blend of roguelike exploration, deckbuilding strategy, and comedic sci-fi adventure that feels both familiar and refreshingly eccentric. Instead of presenting a dark and serious journey across space, the game embraces absurdity through its colorful universe, strange humor, and unpredictable gameplay systems. Developed by BlackMoon Design, it builds its identity around becoming a space pirate captain who explores dangerous sectors, recruits unusual crew members, and assembles increasingly ridiculous card combinations while attempting to overthrow the galaxy’s ruling pirate overlord. The game immediately stands out because it never hides its playful personality, using exaggerated writing and bizarre mechanics to create a strategy experience that feels energetic from beginning to end. The core gameplay loop revolves around traveling through procedurally generated areas while preparing for increasingly difficult battles. Each run offers different encounters, rewards, and opportunities, ensuring that progression rarely feels repetitive. Players gradually improve their decks by collecting new cards and discovering synergies that can dramatically reshape c…

I'd recommend only if it's on sale mostly based on the amount of time it takes to complete the game. I enjoyed the versatility of play styles. I would enjoy more if there were multiple campaigns with different objectives, and maps.
Yes, I recommend as it is a fun little game, but I would say only get this game if it is for $5 or less. As someone else stated, if you have played any game remotely like this before, you are going to breeze through this in about 4 hours. After you figure out a broken build, there's just no point any longer. They should not let anything carry over and instead let you have a starting loadout of a few items you may have unlocked instead of everything. Also, would have loved to see an actual progress bar to unlock certain ships, unique things, etc.
