About CounterAttack: Uprising

CounterAttack: Uprising is a Scrolling Space Shooter (SHMUP / STG) with deep customization, local 4 player CO-OP, and cross-platform online CO-OP for up to 8 players. Blast across 32 levels on the branching campaign, see how long you can last on the endless survival modes, or create custom levels and campaigns with the built-in editors and play them solo or in local and online CO-OP.
Earth is under attack! The Automations, humanity's own creation, have rebelled. They will stop at nothing short of the complete annihilation of their former masters. There is but one hope, the Experimental Space Fighter program. Fight solo or team up for intense co-op action, 1 - 4 player locally or 2 - 8 players online, unlock upgrades, use powerful ultimate abilities, enhance your ship the way you want, and save the Earth from annihilation.

8 Player Cross-Platform Online CO-OP and 4 Player Local CO-OP

All levels, modes, leaderboards, and difficulties are available in CO-OP. Use support attachments to work together, or set powerups on free-for-all and grab them before anybody else does. Use Auras and support attachments to help your friends, or focus only on damage and blast a way through. If you die you become a turret on a surviving ship to continue blasting.

\

Create New Weapons to Destroy the Automatons\

600+ attachments including engine turbos, Support Fighters, Auras, Weapon Replacements, Attack Drones, Weapon Modifiers, Shields, Evasion, Critical Hit Change, and more! Weapons can be combined to create new and unique abilities. Millions of combinations with some powerful (and sometimes wacky) effects! Go all followers and turrets, or buildup weapons that pack a deadly punch. Show off your creations on the workshop, or try one created by somebody else!

Choose from the 8 pilots with unique ultimate and innate abilities

Each pilot has a unique ship, ultimate weapon, and innate ability. Ayumi has the ultimate Tactical Nuke and Analysis ability, Biff as the ultimate Big Biff Laser and Big Boy ability, Marcus has the ultimate Mesonwave and Meson Blades ability, Joe has the ultimate Overcharge and Action Joe ability, Sarah has the Quantium Shield and Survivor ability, Sloane has the Fighter Squadron and a Sloane Aura ability, Carl has the ultimate Plasma Strike and Rocker ability, Jinx has the ultimate Hack Wave and Autorekt ability.

Battle through a branching 32 level campaign and 3 endless survival modes

31 bosses (32 if you count the sun). Branching campaign with secret wormhole paths, 4 difficulties from Easy to Very Hard, 3 modes, catering from novices to veterans. Easy to pickup, hard to master.

3 Endless Survival stages including a Horizontal Flood, Vertical Flood, and a procedurally generated wave survival!

Level Editor & Campaign Editor

Check out the Workshop for the latest player-made campaigns and levels, or create your own using the built-in editors. All custom levels and campaigns are fully playable in local and online co-op, with the same modes and difficulty options as the base game.Custom levels unlock attachments so you aren’t forced to grind the base campaign to experiment with builds (unlock rates are lower on custom content).

A Difficulty for Every Player

With multiple paths, difficulties, and modes, there's a sweetspot for everyone! The branching campaign has levels of very different intensity, the game modes offer everything from casual save-as-you-go to brutal hardcore with 0 extra lives. The easy/medium/hard/very hard difficulty increases the number of enemies, their firer rate, and strength. Great for novices and experts alike!

This fun and frantic shooter takesme back to the days of R-Type and Gradius, with a decent challenge, a great power up system and plenty of enemies. The power up system is very much like that of Gradius - collect the power up icons and choose which upgrade you want - do you use 1 to get an increase in speed, or collect 5 and increase missiles? The fact one of the power ups lets you add additional slots to the rest of the power ups is really nice, and being able to choose an extra life as one of the power ups is also a great idea. There is also a loadout system which allows you to modify weapons before each level, and you can also choose from a number of different ships, each with their own abilities and smart weapons. This game follows the traditions of games like R-Type by being tough. It's not unfair, every death feels like it was your fault, and some early levels are a breeze but the difficulty quickly ramps up. As you unlock ;levels you can select different starting points so you don't end up always having to trudge through the same levels every game. The visuals are fine, with bright icons, fiery explosions and a nice selection of backdrops. The music is fo…

Idk...I just don't really like it. It isn't bad, I would say...performs pretty well, is fluid, etc. I just never liked these kind of games even going back to Galaga in the arcade. I just got this cuz it was one cent cheaper than buying DeltaV Rings of Saturn by itself. So yea, idk. If you like these things, you would probably like it? LOL. Either way, you should definitely check out DeltaV Rings of Saturn.

Accessible for the casual SHUMP player like me, at least on the normal difficulty. Nice power-up systems and a lot of variety.
