You are a crab who is dodging men with swords on the beach who attack you with their magical swords while you avoid spikes and attempt to collect a hamburger. Why is the crab trying to get the hamburger? Why are the men with swords, who do not move, trying to stop the crab from reaching the hamburger? This is my favorite sort of crummy game because it's like nonsensical fever dream. When you beat it, the game says "You a Certified C.R.A.B." but doesn't explain what this is. I suspect it is Crab Running After Burger. How incredibly deep and awe inspiring.16 found this helpful
Dev treat players as enemies, treat the wall-jump bug as a 'game feature', treat game's terrible control as difficulty, and deliberately designed lots of deadly obstacle with a perfect timing, making this game a disaster.1 found this helpful
The controls aren't the best, the enemy's have no warning when their about to throw, but past that, some of the levels have bad design where the platforms are just pixel perfect. If your gonna make a rage game, it should feel like my fault when I die, not the games. All in all, not awful, but needs improvement.
I assumed this would be another quick and easy platformer, but I really struggled on a couple of the levels (to the point where it was actually tilting). Controls are awful, with the jump just randomly not working sometimes. Art style and audio are okay, nothing crazy. I had to turn off the music after awhile. Considering the sale price of ~50 cents, it's worth a go if you want a challenge.
Crabby Beach is a small-scale indie platformer developed by HentyUI and published by khukhrovr that embraces simplicity, charm, and a tightly focused design philosophy. At its core, the game follows a single, straightforward objective: guiding a lone crab across a hazardous beach environment as it attempts to reach the water. While the premise is deliberately minimal, the game wraps this journey in a playful tone that transforms ordinary platforming dangers into an amusing struggle for survival, giving personality and narrative flavor to what is otherwise a mechanically lean experience. Gameplay in Crabby Beach centers on classic 2D platforming fundamentals, emphasizing timing, positioning, and careful movement rather than complex mechanics or layered systems. Each section of the beach presents hazards such as spikes, drops, and hostile obstacles that require precision and patience to overcome. Deaths come quickly when mistakes are made, but restarts are fast, encouraging experimentation and learning through repetition rather than punishment. The challenge curve remains approachable, making the game accessible to casual players while still offering enough tension to keep more expe…
Theres's a long list of problems with this game, controls are janky. the artstyle doesn't look good as randomly 8bit sprites, the spikes blend into the background, its just unfair even in the first level and importantly i just didnt have fun playing it.
