Creepy Tale: Snow Child

The fifth game in this macabre and at the same time kind of cute fairy tale horror game series by a tiny dev team where children goes on adventures (and often meet grizzly ends). The storylines in each game is self contained, but connected in that there are characters that appear in several games. The third one seams to be the first chronologiacally and while you can play them in order, it's perfectly fine to jump in here at the arguably most polished game, you will not miss much other than a few "hey that's you!" moments. Gameplay is a mix of logic puzzles and point and click gameplay with a few "action" scenes to mix things up a bit. It's never too much moon logic and you can skip the action scenes if you are terrible at them (you only lose the achievement). The achievements where also pretty forgiving since there are chapter selection, if you miss something you can go back anytime and pick them up, there are no missable ones in that regard. At most you have to play a few minutes. I played the whole Creepy bundle and each one seemed to get better. Loved the series and loved this one.

fun, but achievements are trash

t took me about eight hours to finish the whole game. Overall, the puzzles were not particularly impressive to me. Most of them were reasonable and made sense, but they were also quite predictable. There were very few moments where I felt genuinely surprised or rewarded after spending time solving a puzzle. Some puzzles even felt uninspired and boring. I personally really enjoy puzzle games, and after seeing so many positive reviews before playing, I had fairly high expectations for this sequel. However, after finishing it, I ended up feeling a little disappointed. It might also be because, after playing the first game, the art style and gameplay that once felt fresh and exciting to me have become too familiar by the time I reached the third entry. On top of that, the puzzle quality did not feel significantly better than before, so the overall experience was just average for me. --Spoiler warning for the following puzzle examples-- One puzzle that did leave a good impression on me was the one in the elevator where you have to figure out a sequence of numbers. It involved matching numbers with letters, and switching between day and night modes to access different sets of letters.…

Game so good you wish the creators would make another one! But it does do a great job at ending the Creepy Tale saga. Compared to previous games this one has a lot of different and new mechanics that do not let you get bored of the good ol' point and click. Even though this game relies on the previous four games' lore, it does not make you feel like you missed something, but I would recommend playing or at least watching previous games playthroughs for a better understanding. It makes the experience of playing Snow Child a lot more enjoyable recognizing same places and characters you grew to know and love:)
