Crime Girl

Great little game! Picked it up on sale a while back and I've had a lot of fun with it. Great little game for when you want something simple, but challenging.

A very fun action platformer with a grappling mechanic that is simple and can be deployed in a number of ways. It's well-designed platforming at its best. I love this game, and at this price point, you really can't go wrong.

Game does nothing offensive but isn't something I see myself playing more than 2 or 3 times...

[h1] Thanks a lot Steam [/h1] So lets start off with weird tangents about how small companies, and in this case, possibly 1 person, get shafted by the steam integration. As of the time of this review 8/5/2021, the game is still available to purchase, but has had its achievements removed. This is because the developer wanted to do some slight fixes, but you can't do that if you have steam integration, it's no longer 1 small update, it's an update to everything else. Steam always gets a commission for games sold on it's platform, but offers no assistance to even the smallest of companies, let alone valued updates to their own software and games. I mean come on cuz, get with the times, these indie developers bring something spicy and new to the industry, not they are the majority of developers, but they bring interesting ♥♥♥♥ with them. Like this game. I love cataloging games that get taken down from steam. And when I went back to play this game (because rogue-likes are surprisingly good party/drinking games) I noticed that my achievements were gone, although they still exist in game. [h1]Ain't no party like a Crime Girl party 'cause a Crime Girl party don't stop Crimin'[/h1] Crime Girl is a fun tower-climb platformer that rewards your ability to not get slapped by the large cache of monsters in your way. Using the grapple hook you can deftly hook enemies from below, climb along the ceiling to avoid floor hazards, and feel like Spider-Man if Spider-Man had more fashion sense and did crimes. Along the way are plenty of power-ups to pick up - I had found about 4 or 5 different shields during my playthroughs with some granting additional abilities like low gravity and emerald magnetism. If you are able to maintain a shield and full health during the run you are showered with emeralds at each treasure chest. Unless you're me, who proceeds to lose the magnet shield as soon as they pick it up. Oops. The enemy types are a-plenty, and they will trip you up. While your recourses for taking them down are hitting them with your hook or boppin' 'em on the head, some will take advantage of your mid-flight jump and huck icicles and fireballs into you.
